2002 pontiac grand prix ac high side line is freezing up and the low side line is staying at ambient temperature

You take your car to the nearest licensed automotive A/C shop and have them evacuate the system and recharge.

I'm saying this because once you have opened the system, you have let moisture into it. Even a small amount of moisture will damage your A/C system, and needs to be removed. Also, they will know just how much refrigerant to put into the system once it is moisture free.

sometimes its behind the alternator real close to the firewall. Find the bigger of the two hoses and pipes the low side is always bigger. Also the cap is blue and the fitting for the charging can will only fit on the right valve.

The windshield washer line is usally 1/4''.Where the vacumme lines are between 1/4'' to 3/8" depending on which hose it is your changing.

Since you have to charge it on the low side, you will have to get another setup to charge the a/c, or take it to someone and have them charge it.
