Question about 2004 Pontiac Aztek
The half shaft axle is broken, we are trying to replace it. We have the parts for both of them. How do we get to the cotter pin? Is it the same as removing the front right? We how do we go about removing the broken part to replace it?

You need a spindle nut, a bearing puller and a tie rod puller. Get a Haynes manual and it will walk you through the installation.

you will need to take the two bolts out of the strut that connects to the spindle backing plate.this will let the backing plate pull out enough to pull the cv axle out.

depending on who does it and how "professional" they are and of course if anything is siezed or damaged minimum time to remove is approximatley 1 hour.
