Just anted to confirm that my 2005 buick rendezvous has a non interference engine as i need to replace the timing belt/chain and was concerned with driving it

you need to say what engine it has ( 4,v6,v8)
a qualified mechanic always treats an engine as intereference fit regardless because either engine can have valve damage when the failure occurs
If you have not broken a belt or chain and you set the timing marks up properly before removing the belt or chain and do not turn crank or cam/s after the belt/chain is removed there will be no damage done
that only occurs when the crank is or cam/s are turned without the connection to each other

Is there a place to check the timing on a 1992 3.3 liter Buick with a timing light like you can a 350 chevy

the timing is computer controlled, the only timing marks are on the cam where the timing chain is,,check compression on all cylinders, because getting to the timing chain is a big job,its behind the water pump, here are some videos for you, 1986 cutlass 3 8L timing chain replacement

1992 buick lasbre 3800 will not start. Cranks like out of timing .

check the firing order to start with . Next see if the cam shaft is turning (broken belt/chain) Next check ignition timing is correct.. Check for spark as it may be the immobiliser is not working.

If your engine won't started or sparkplugs not firing if your timing chain broke on a1994 buick lesabra

stick you finger in the hole where the oil fill is and have someone crank it over you should be able to feel the rocker arms move then if its moving check the crank shaft position sensor behind the crank pulley

How do you know when you need a new timing belt for a 1986 monte carlo

I dont belive this 1986 monte carlo has a timing belt, this car uses the timing chain, the timing chain is good for 150,000 miles, the to check it for wear would be to remove the distributor cap turn crank with a wrench to right mark rotor then slowly turn crank to the left and watch how far the crank turns before the rotor moves, this is how to check the slack on the chain if the crank moves more than 10 degrees then replace the chain, these cars can go 150.000 miles before the chain is needed, and some go more. hope this helps.

My car doesn't start i put in a carborator kit. And it still does not srtart. It cranks but will not turn on. I looked at the distributor and the rotar does not spin all around, it goes back and forth....

depends......if you crank the car does it make a aweful sound? if it does, then yes it could be the timing chain....but if the sound is quite normal then better check on your spark plugs

I have a 1993 buick lesabre and the engine wont crank up just turn thats it. what could be my problem.

crank and no start could be several reasons, 1 no spark going to the spark plugs, 2 possibly no fuel or that the injectors not working 3 could be a timing belt or . chain problem
