Question about 2004 Isuzu Rodeo
I Have a 04 Rodeo with a 3.5L engine. I have a P0300 and a P0303 misfire code. Things I did to try to resolve the issue. I switched cylinder 3 to cylinder 4. Also cleaned spark plugs. They had a black carbon on it. Plugs were changed. Still getting the same codes. Switched all the coils on the left side back and forth. Still the same code. Every time I took the spark plugs out there would be carbon build up on it. I would clean it every time. The same codes would pop up every time. Even deleted the codes every time. That's the only codes I get. Even put Chevron injector cleaner in and did not help. Any Ideas?
So missfire detected and cylinder 3 missfire detected.
check to see injector pulse with "noide light" if ok injector is problem
remove fuel rail and injectors look into top of injector for blockage in screen filter in injector if blocked clean out or injector carby places can remove this screen replace it and test injectors and clean or just buy new injectors. make sure to clean out fuel rail and change fuel filter also.
if noide light flashes irratic or not at all wiring issue, check for power on one wire with ignition on 12v other is earthed by ecu when opened to inject fuel. other thing that can cause problem on cylinder is tappet clearance "shims" too tight, could do compression test to see if compression is low on cylinder or a cylinder leakage test to see if valves are leaking. broken valve spring. valves do not hit piston on these engines even if cam belt breaks, they are a "free wheeling" engine

these O2 sensors are cat convertor check sensors. id be checking cat convertors and hopefully you should try replacing if not all ready is the front bank 2, O2 sensor
if you have scanner can you see fuel trims in data display to confirm high fuel trim only on bank 2 either +-5 or more indicates problem and if bank 2 sensor 2 has fixed high 700mv reading cat no good(warm idling)

The upper intake gaskets may be leaking. They are made of plastic and metal and will leak air. Do not remove the cover on very top of manifold when changing.

After market spark plugs could be the problem.
Reinstall the old plugs and see if that fixes it.
This vehicle has an ion sensing ignition system and is real sensitive to the proper spark plugs. I would get the proper plugs from the dealer if the old ones work.
The codes P1311 and P1312 are ion sensing codes.
