This warning can be flagged by lots of reasons you really need to get the fault codes out of the engine control module but the common causes i have found after working on these cars for a few years are air leaks after the mass air flow sensor, sticking throttle butterfly in the throttle body, the throttle itself, lamda sensors, and knock sensors, and because the temp gauge does not give you a true temp reading the engine could be overheating the clue to that is the rad fan always running

Could be a lot of thing's given the amount of electronics on vehicles . Are there any lights lit on the dash - check engine ? Does yours have a message center showing Reduced engine power ? Could have a plugged catalytic converter , restricted exhaust etc.... Are you going to try an fix it yourself or just want advice ? Given the complexity of cars today if you don't know about such thing's I would suggest you take it to a ASE certified repair shop !

Reduced Engine perfomance

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Why is restricted perfomance light on in 2005 jaguar vandenplas

Many things can cause resricted performance..I have a vanden plas and a xjr...and I have seen many things cause it from knock sensors, to water being sprayed on the engine or short circuiting throttle body sensors etc...the 1st thing you must do is have the code read that is causing the restricted performance ...let me know.

WHY IS RESTRICTED PERFORMANCE LIGHT ON

Lots of things can cause this. Most likely it is due to an engine vaccumn leak from any number of gaskets. Your local dealer or mechanic can check for any faults stored in the car's computer (ECM). This will lead them to the cause of the restricted perfomance light.

A/c restriction, how much to fix it? Got a mechanic here going to charge me $835 and telling me what a deal it is, because he has to take out my entire dash board and put it back in. There is a restriction...

Most blockages in the a/c are caused by the filter sock becoming clogged with compressor wear fragments. I am not familiar with the the Corolla layout but on most cars the filter sock is located under the hood in the pipe leading from the front condensing cooling radiator. Toyota are not crazy enough to hide this designed constriction in a place that is so inaccessible like deep under the dash. The only reason for getting behind the dash on most cars is to fix a leak to the a/c 'evaporator' unit. I would look seriously to get a second and third opinion.

Jaguar s-type restricted performance displayed

Its most likely the coils and spark plugs, sometimes caused by oil leaking from the valve cover gasket. The coils deteriorate over time from engine heat and need to be replaced at 90-100k
Local garages don't have the Jaguar diagnostics terminal and are unable to do more than find basic error codes with a reader. Its important to get this fixed because it's causing damage to your caltalytic converters. They are expensive.

Jag s type 05. restricted performance mess. appear intermittantly

Unfortunately many things can cause this. It may just be a faulty sensor or wiring plug/socket. The jaguar engine has many sensors all of which can cause this message. Best get the cars fault register read at a garage - this should show you where the problem may lay. The fact that the fault can disappear for long periods would indicate its something minor at the moment. for peace of mind get it checked.
