The main reason for a resistor to go bad is because the blower is pulling too many amps to work. Check your blower motor.

replace the heater resistor block. On my 2002 Voyger it was easy and part was apx. 17.00. drop the door of the glove box. Let hang and behind the box is the unit. Remove 2 ea, 8mm screws and unplug a 6 pin plug and a 2 pin plug. Replace unit install two screws and replug in connectors. Will take apx. 15 min. and will save you money and a trip to the shop. Blower fan control problem

Check the wiring to the motor and resistor pack For the motor to run at full speed all the time indicates that there is uncontrolled voltage to it which means that there is a earth after the motor before the resistor. For the resistor to burn out .Well it requires fan air flow to keep it cool and with the ignition off it must still be getting current to it to earth. I am suspecting a faulty automatic control module. I suggest you have it check out for failure.

A/c and heating fan problem

Easy there is a set of of resistors that make speed selector work when they burn out they fuse together and lock in the full speed ( high) position this is for safety. you got to have defrost to see right.
anyway they are located near the fan usually under the passenger side dash jsut replace the resistors. you'l be fine

Heater blower only on high

This can be solved by replacing your blower motor resistor which is located under/behind the dash generally in the same area as your controls for the fan. The resistor can be purchased from Advanced for about $23 and should take about 30-45 minutes to replace

Heater only works on high

resistor block is located in the ducting somewhere close to the blower motor. They keep it there so that it alwys has air blowing across it, to keep from buring out too fast. Though as you may well know Chrysler never makes things easy and you may want to leave this one for a pro.

Heater Control Switch Only Works on High

Your problem is probably a part called the heater resistor block or board. When this part burns out you will only have high speed on the fan. On my 1999 voyager it is located on the firewall and it snaps in a hole in the firewall. This is under the hood behind the alternator.
Mine had a multi pin black plug plugged into it. Unplug the plug and
you should be able to pull the block out insert new block and plug plug back in and it should come to life.
