I have a 94 olds cutlass ciera. I have replaced the battery, new cables, altenator, starter, and I have a re-current problem of turning the ignition and I get a click, and then finally it starts.


The click is the solenoid not getting enough power to energise the starter and engage the pinion gear. Either the battery is weak or the connections going in the starter circuit have excessive resistance and need to be tightened/cleaned.

Why relay coil do not energises?


Firstly test your relay coil to see if its okay. Then trace back and see where your getting your 12v for the coil. Test the contacts to make sure you dont have a bad contact....bad contacts are common

Battery light on


Not really --- An alternator needs a battery to energise the field windings to generate power as they have no residual magnets . By removing the battery with the engine running you will damage the alternator /rectifiers or regulator. The car shuts down because there is no power to run the ignition.

Dash lights won't work and alternator doesn't appear to be charging battery. All visible fuses are good


The alternator needs power from the battery to energise the rotor, so without the dash lights the alternator is not charging. Check for a fuse link near the battery. Get the dash lights on and the charging fault will clear. Sorry I can't be more specific as to the dash problem.

Is the battery light on the dash board working? If the light does not work the alternator will not charge, it needs the power from the light to energise the rotor.

Fludic verna headlight is very poor???chould i add cutout and use more 100/90 w bulb to get more light...which cutout brand is good


The standard lights are quite good enough if the reflectors and lens are really shiny and not partially rusted. Large bulbs run the risk of melting the plastic reflectors costing new head lights. Adjusting the head lights to correct beam height will also help. You can use relays in the system. Disconnect the wires to the back of the bulbs and attach then to the trigger pins of the relay (4 relays-2 high beam L+R and 2LBeam L+R). Run fused power wires from the battery to the power pin of the relay and out to the beam pin of the bulb. earth the bulbs as normal. The operation works like this You switch on the lights to low beam and the power from the switch energises the relay and drops in the contacts which allows power from the battery ,through the bulb low beam to earth. Switching to high beam energises the relay and allows power from the battery through the relay and out to the high beam part of the bulb through to earth. You have full 12 volts to the lights and reduced current through the light switch. 4 relays --1 each for each light low and 1 each for each light high. jump the wire from each beam position between relays of the same light so that they work off the one wire from the switch

When I try to start my 91 Buick Le Sabre all I get is a click sound. The batt is fine all lights work. I replaced the starter and still the same problem.


please check whether 1 cell of the battery isnt dead .all the lights will still work without 1 cell but the battery wont take the load of the starter.the click sound is the starter relay energising . REPLACE THE BATTERY .

Where is the gas cut off relay on a 1988 190e benz


The relays are located in the central electrics unit behind the fuses and in an additional holder just to the front of the main circuit. This particular one I am not sure.
If you think it is suspect or a problem with the system turn the engine. If the relay is working you should hear a click as it is energised. Hearing this may lead you to it. Unfortunately if you don't hear the click the relay is beat and I am afraid I still cannot point to the exact location. If you do hear the click and still have a problem If it is being energised you have a problem with a component or wiring. I am not an expert but I hope this helps.

hi have you checked the leads from battery to starter are secure ? also important that the negative earth lead from battery to the engine is also secure and in good condition on the starter you should have main cable from battery and a thinner cable both connected to solenoid on one terminal ? then a thin wire to a small push on terminal? this wire is the key start wire which energises the slenoid/starter
