1998 Tarus run out ofoil does this engine have an automatic engine shutdown when theres oilin the motor hen there is no oil

When an engine runs out of oil, friction causes everything to get extremely hot... The engine will eventually stop running, but this is after the major damage has been done. Usually the motor will seize and more often than not will need to be completely replaced.

1998 ford taurus will not start without using starter fluid

I would check fuel pressure before and after you crank the engine.
The pump gets power for 3 seconds during startup - if the fuel pressure has leaked down you would have to crank the engine until the oil pressure came up to get the pump to power up again.

the head gasket is on the engine higher than the oil pan so if the leak is not were the head meets the cylinder block and running down towards the bottom of the motor then the head gasket is not the problem.if the leak is only around the oil pan area and slightly above it then its probably the oil pan that is leaking.fluid leaks travel backwards or downwards not up.

How can you tell you have a blown head gasket on a 98 Chev Blazer?

You can pull the oil dip stick and check to see if antifreeze has entered oil it will be muddy looking. Engine may run rough or sluggish, excessive white smoke out of the exhaust. Engine may overheat. These are commen signs of a blown head gasket. Hope this helps.

My 1998 taurus makes a tapping noise when i first start it but within 1 to 5 minutes it stops. I don't need oil.

could be a lifter / hla that is leaking down over night and must wait for oil to get back up to top of engine before it quiets. Could also be the oil filter that is allowing the same to happen , could also be piston slap - suggest you consult a trained ear to hear the engine on 1st start

1998 ford taurus leaking oil form the bottom of the car

This problem could be caused by a number of things, a pipe come out of place, a blown gasket, a in the engine; all of these include heavy engine work, and i wouldn't reccomend trying to fix it yourself, take it to your local garage and they'll sort it for you

Please rate my help, thanks

Burnt oil smell coming from heater

make sure the pvc valve is in place on the valve cover on the passenager side and also make sure the oil filter does not have a double gasket on it cause this will make it leak and the fan would blown oil back on the engine

Oil in air filter

the part that connects to the top of the oil housing i believe would be the pvc valve... take it off and shake it... does it rattle ... if not replace it.
