Electrical / engine problems in Mitsubishi feedback carburetor

It has a 1.3 ltr (4G13) carburettor engine in it. Under heavier loads, accekerating from low revs, or climbing a hill, mainly half throttle upwards it bogs down, surges, the odd backfire e.t.c, if you manually pull it into 2nd gear to raise the revs ( decrease the load) it will accelerate with little bit of surging. I notice today that i could hear a clicking noise somewhere in the dash that seems to be it time with the car surging. I have been told that these feedback carby systems do have a reed switch somewhere, I have no idea what it's for or where to find it. Any help would be great as I haven't been able to find any info on this particular model. Thanks

    The main problem
    ended up being in either the inbuilt coil or transistor switch, as
    swapping the distributor has solved thw bogging down problem, Both the
    mechanical and vacuum advance is the same for both distributors. Along
    with the idle up dashpot, solenoid, TPS and dirt in the carby. This car
    was a lot of small problems leading to one big problem, hope this helps
    someone who might have a similar problem, Thanks

pretty complex problem there man! sounds like it could possibly be something with the transmission. at the part when you say if youre pulling at 55 and it wont speed up, does the engine rev up but it doesnt do anything or no change in engine speed? if the engine sped up, it sounds like a transmission problem, if it didnt make a change in the engine, then it could be as you said a fuel problem. also as a last thought, it could also be a sensor malfunctioning. you might want to take it to a ford dealer and get it diagnosed

My son has a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer. Check engine is on and he was told has something to do with the carburetor and it's expensive


Get a second opinion at a different garage! Lancers are fitted with an injection system NOT carburettors. Get a good auto electrician to check that check engine light. Then you'll know where to look for the fault on the engine.

the carburator is single(is not electrical) the all hoses are moved and i dont now how to fixe them please help me for a plan or map of hoses of carburator(i am teacher in iran i can buy a lancer 1992 after 29 year teaching do you beleave this this is iran)

What is the type of engine and Automaic transmission oil shall I use in lancer 2002 1300cc motor 4g13?


15w-30 engine oil and ATF transmission oil probably an atf -4 oil
ring any automatic transmission shop for the oil specs
make sure that it is a genuine automatic transmission and not a cv transmission ( constant velocity )transmission as using ATF oil will destroy the belt and the transmission

Car lancer 4g13 engine has a problem when i release the clutch there something like a lack of gasoline so the like stop and go proble


The accelerator pump must be fouled up, this pumps a quick jet of gas into the engine when you first hit the gas, without it the car will hesitate, rebuild the carburetor or just replace the pump is my suggestion. I would have a local shop look at the pump operation before you tear it apart. Japanese carbs are very difficult to rebuild lots of vacuum lines and linkage rods to worry about. If the carb does need an overhaul I strongly suggest you have it done by a professional.

Valve clearance 4g13


make the engine runs for about 30minutes before adjusting the valves,
valve clearances:
intake valve = 0.20mm(0.008 in)
exhaust valve = 0.25mm(0.010 in)
for reference only when the engine is cold,
valve clearances:
intake valve = 0.25mm(0.010 in)
exhaust valve = 0.30mm(0.012 in)
engine specs: mitsubishi 4g13 1.3L (if you have same engine)

My ck2 lancer hard starts and the engine check light lights up about 1 minute after startup, what is causing these problems [4g13 engine]


its an injectors nozzles problem im sure of it
might be dirty nozzles needs to be cleaned and clogged up
or the nozzles are getting wider spraying hole so rather than spry the fuel it dripping it causing such a start up problems
but the sure thing is you need just check the injectors nozzles

Can't seem to find the manual transmission gear box's oil drain plug on my Lancer 2005 4G13 engine?


I hate to point out the obvious - but are you sure it is a 4g13 engine? That is mitsubishi's 1.3l engine. Your profile has no info saying what country you are from - but I think all 2005 mitsubish lancer engines will be >1.3L
There is a 4g93 1.8l dohc engine.

3.3 L with Oil filter; 3.0 L w/o Oil filter :)
