Question about 2005 Subaru Legacy

1 Answer

2005 subaru legacy has code p010, no probs with engine performance?

Car has yellow engine light on and flashing green cruise light on dash - no effect on engine performance. Code P010 found (evidently to do with environmental control). Has been cleared but keeps returning. Can this be disabled?

55 EGR Temperature Sensor or Circuit

ABS light is nothing to do with code 55 separate fault circuits.

Under dash there are two wires with mini spades at the end, connect one of them to the single black multiplug in position 2. Thats RHS plug inlet when you hold plug with tab lock on top.
ABS sensor should then flash up error coded. Ignore code 11 thats a initial flash to let you nknow the difference between a fast and slow flash.

Let me know what code flashes up and I will tell you the symptom,

Dan

Why are my rpms staying at 1000 when I'm going 40mph?

Does your RPM gauge only go to 1000 and not record anything higher? As far as your check engine...on the Subaru Legacy the check engine usually comes on when there is an issue with something within the emission control sensors...and typically it is an issue with the forward O2 sensor going into the Catalytic Convertor. As a safety feature, the vehicle's cruise control will not work when the check engine light is engaged and the light will flash intermittently. The repair of the forward O2 (oxygen) sensor should run about $150 - $200 to replace the sensor. As with the case with most sensors, you may not notice any performance difference in the vehicle operation but you should have it diagnosed and repaired when possible because overtime the operation can be impacted.

I suggest you to have a ELM327 OBD2 with bluetooth connection (around 10-25$ on internet stores) + torque app to your phone. cheap and works just fine for checking engine error codes, and resetting malfunction lights. I think you were lucky to find correct answer on the internet, because without any further inspection they all are nothing else but lucky guesses. (and changing different sensors randomly based on guesses willcome very expensive.) If you watch this video it explain why in situation like you have is hard find correct answer to a specific problem.

Hi from memory you connect the two green connectors under the dash and start the car, this should reset the light only if the problem has been fixed though otherwise it will stay on until prob fixed
