SOURCE: 1999 Buick Century thermostat question.

patience , and a 13 MM wrench , you gotta get your arms in there deep , that lower bolt does not need to come all the way off , the thermostat housing has a slot at the bottom for easier access , loosen it about 3.4 of the way and you can get the housing out , experience says a premium thermostat will give you grief trying to reinstall , get a regular duty thermostat .reverse procedure.

2015 outback rear bumper removal

I assume you mean the bumper cover.

There's a set of two-piece plastic clips along the top of the bumper. Pry the center section out then the outer piece can be removed.
There's more clips along the bottom LH and RH sides.

And, there's an M6 bolt in the top of wheel arch end of the cover.
You should then be able to remove the cover.

The bolts to remove the bumper internal are now accessible.

How do I remove front bumper cover?

To remove the front bumper cover you must first remove the turn lights in
the bumper. To do this remove the fog lights or the fog light covers by
removing the screw under the cover and remove the screw from the bottom that
holds the light in place. After doing this you will see a 12mm bolt behind
the light and one just to the inside of the lower grille. Remove all 4 of
these bolts(2 per side). Also remove the bolts /clips in the lower panel
under the bumper. The corners of the bumper near the fender actually slide
onto a stud that holds it in place. Just remove the bumper by pulling
forward. Sorry if this seems confusing but it is really pretty easy to do.

How to remove headlamp assambly in a volvo s60 2002

Hello,

This should be fairly simple, one may have to remove the grille.

  • Remove trimmings on the front bumper cover to allow access to the bolt for removal of the front bumper. The trimming can be removed simply by prying the trimming from the center of the bumper cover using a Philips screw driver.
  • After removing the 2 bolts on the bumper cover, you may open the hood and remove the plastic fasteners on the top of the bumper.
  • To remove the plastic fastener, simply depress the center until click. Do not press too far or the fastener will be damaged.
  • Turn the Torx screw in the wheel well counter clockwise to loosen the catch plate on the bumper. Lift the bumper cover over the catch plate and push the bumper cover forward. This completes the removal of the front bumper cover.
  • To remove the headlight assembly, you will need to loosen the bolt on the retainer near the wheel well. You will then remove the 4 bolts that hold the headlight assembly.
  • There is one bolt on the side of the headlight assembly. Two bolts on top and one at the corner of the lens. They all have the same size bolt.
  • In order to remove the headlight assembly, after removing the bolts, the headlight harness needs to be removed.
  • The next step is to remove the trimming on the lens and removing the clips that hold the lens in place. There are 4 clips. One clips on each side.
  • Once the clips are removed, the lens can be pry open with screw driver. You may want to heat the edge to soften the glue or use an utility knife to scrape the edge. Be extra careful, as the glass can be very sharp if shattered. Please also wear protective gear such as safety goggle and gloves. After this, just reverse the steps to put the headlight back together.
Take care and good luck

Hood release bad even when the lever is push or pulled hood wont open

I am going to give you a solution that is actually specific to your car. It will allow you to open the hood without destroying anything. You have to remove the front grill to access the latch. Here's how. At either side of the grill there is a 10mm bolt that points down through the bumper cover and the headlight assembly. Use a pry tool to gently lift the hood and you can slip a 10mm flat wrench onto the head of the bolt to loosen it and remove it. With both bolts removed, you have to pry between the grill bottom and the bumper cover to disengage the three posts that protrude from the bumper cover into the grill. Now, the grill is held only by the two clips that go back into the top frame member, at either side of the grill. A firm yank will get them out, You can now access the latch mechanism to pull the cable, or, if worse comes to worse, you can even unbolt the latch mechanism from the frame member, it's easy.

I have a 90 honda civic and the latch by the emergency wont pop the hood. i tried using pliers n grabbing the cord but it does nothing. how can i pop my hood.

First of all I'm not an expert. However, having said that the only way I was able to do this very same thing was to pull the hood up a bit and slide in a couple extensions and a socket onto the bolts and take them off. Then it got real fun becuase one of the bolts is behind the bumper, so I lined it up and drilled through it to get at that one. Drastic perhaps but as a backyard mechanic I couldn't think of a better way to get at it. Hopefully someone else has better advice, perhaps a way to pull up on the hood and force latch open.

I need to remove the front bumper cover in order to give it some repairs due to scratch/cracks. How can I remove it and reinstall it.

taking off the bumper is pretty easy ... i've done it plenty of times at work ... the good thing is that it comes off pretty simple without having to take off the headlamps or anything ... ok ... i'm gonna try ... open the hood ... take out the clips that are holding it on the top ... there's 5 of them i think ... then it's connected to the fender too ... remove the clips that connect the bumper to the fender liner on the side ... you're gonna need something like a clip remover for that cuz those sit pretty deep and are pretty hard to get out ... pull out the fender liner as far as you can and you'll see a screw that connects the bumper to the fender on the very tip of it ... i'm pretty sure it's a 7mm screw ... unscrew that and it should lossen up ... do that on teh other side too ... ok ... now ... bottom ... there are 7mm palstic screws on the bottom that hold the dirt blocker thing ... there's like 10 of them ... take out the cips and unscrew them ... the bumper should come off ... you might have to see what else is holding it ... but it's pretty easy ... top, sides, bottom ... doesn't matter which order you go in ... i usually start from the bottom ... then sided then top ... so yeah ... i hope this helps ...

How to change the whole headlight assembly on a 05 Honda CRV

You have to remove the front bumper and grill etc

There are 5 bolts holding the headlight assembly in place. 2 at the top and 3 underneath.

Remove the plastic cross piece by prising out the clips and then the grille clips too then unbolt the bolts eithr side under the wheel arch. The bumper is still fastened using cips. Pull the bumper forward to unclip.

Taking off the bumper

There are black buttons looking things that the middle pries out of under the hood right where the plastic bumber starts. BE VERY CAREFUL REMOVING THESE THEY WILL BREAK OFF IN A MINUTE!!!! Next u need to remove the front tires and support the car on jackstands. Then take a long (at least 24 inch) extension and remove the bolts holding the bumper on both sides now it should come off.

Remove the bumper. If I remember correctly, it is two bolts each side, which you can reach from the front with an extension on your ratchet. Don't forget to unplug (and perhaps remove) your front turn signals.
