SOURCE: The unlock buttom on the key fob will not unlock

the problem when the driver side is already opened then you have time to fix and check the wirings of the driver side door.
when you open the side cover of the door you will see all the wiring behind then test all the wiring connection using a dc tester or a multiful tester.
then after checking the wirings push the the of control switch of the door(on & off) and look at the tester if they are functioning.
good luck.

SOURCE: Key fob stopped working the door locks. I changed

the circuit boards on those factory remotes, sometime break where the battery is clipped in, check to make sure the solder is holding the clip properly and it is not loose, also they remote may need to be programmed to the vehcile with a scan tool, usually only found at GM, Also the rubber part of the remote on the inside where the pad touchs the circuit board, uses a small screwdriver and touch the exposed circuit, if the remote locks the doors, try putting in tiny peice of alumumn tape of the inside pad, the connectiveness of the rubber wears off. If not try above or dealer.

SOURCE: the power door locks stopped

Sounds like body computer is malfunctioning or the module that controls the door locks lost it's program.Disconnect the battery for few minutes then reconnect and check. In some cases this resets the system computer and all starts working. But if that does not helps then problem has to be checked with the power door lock system.Either a power door lock actuator or the power door lock switch. Usually the most common problems with power door locks are the actuators. They are small electric motors used to lock and unlock the car doors when activated by a switch or remote. Like any electric motor sooner or later it will fail. Replacing an actuator involves removing the interior door panel for access. Some are part of the door latch and some are independent.
Either way, door lock actuators need to be replaced if they are buzzing, working only in one mode or are not working at all. if the problem is with the door lock actuator or just the switch. If a All the door locks, only work when locking and NONE of them work to unlock, then the switch is most likely the cause.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

SOURCE: 2005 cobalt ls, 24000 mi,

Most commonly if this is a bad receiver, when receiver start going bad they will work and not worked intermittently. The most you can do at this point is try to reprogram the system and see if it begins to work properly again otherwise it's gonna be time to replace the receiver. Part of the receiver is working, see the receiver receives your signal but then it must perform an action and it's the action part of the receiver that has the problem.

If the reprogramming must be done at the dealer with a factory scanner, unfortunately the other scanners available will not do this.

Keep in mind that the best place to possibly get a replacement key fob would be from the dealership. They will be able to sell you the fob and program it to your vehicle for you as well. Also if you need any extra keys you can get them there as well.

Hope this helps. Keep us updated.

If the passkey is messed up, there will be a light on the dash that says security, or have a picture of a car with a lock thru it. If there is no light when the key is turned forward, then its NOT a passkey problem.

Do you mean you can't lock or unlock with the key fob? If so, check battery in key fob. If battery is OK, problem could be in the Liftgate Module. This contains the receiver for the key fob.

The receiver for the fobs is located in the rear hatch, and it needs to be reprogrammed to the fobs. Try the following procedure;

The body shop should be able to program the Key F.O.B back to your vehicle. If the battery was disconnected the reciver to the F.O.B lost the frequency.
If the shop can not fix it the dealer can.
