2005 mitsubishi outlander remote locking won't work, have replaced battery in key and still does not work. All the doors will lock with key but will not remotely

Central locking has failed and won't work now. All the doors still lock when locked via drivers door. I have replaced the battery in the key and still no luck.

If you can unlock it with the key,and not the remote, then it sounds like the lock actuator is not working in that door.In order to check it, the door panel has to come off.

Central locking works by way of little electric motors that engages and disengages the door lock. The drivers door has an additional set of contacts in the actuator which signal the controller when it changes position. The controller activates the servo motors when a signal is received from the receiver or from the drivers door servo motor. So in your case I suspect the motor part of the drivers door actuator is done for.
To replace you will have to remove the inner driver's door panel to get at the actuator. The actuator itself cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced as a unit.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi colt 2005 driver door will not unlock with or without key

if the electric door lock actuator froze up this could cause the problem as it would not want to unlock either way it is inside the door panel hooked to the door latch

Shut the hood and all the doors. Make sure they are closed and locked. Open the drivers door with the key to reset the security. It should start. If not lock it and open the passenger side with the key. Then replace the drivers side door latch on the door.

I have a 2005 JGC 5.7 hemi and sometimes remotes wont work only when you want to unlock it.If you use the key to open door alarm sounds. what could be the problem?

Have you tried a new battery in the remote, or do you have a second remote you can test. Either your remote is worn out or the battery is dead.
Once you lock the car with your remote it will active the alarm and if you use your key it won't deactive the alarm only your remote will, on some cars putting the key in the ignition will deactive it.
If you can deactive your alarm with your remote and can just manualy lock and unlock your doors and that should prevent your alarm from going off until you get a new remote or battery.

Replaced batteries in my key fob for my shogun( its the spare key witch has been idle for 2 years ) but now this needs to be reset

hi steve, well i dont know if it will work with your vehicle, but ime a bit confused as to which one you have shogun or outlander? but, either way you can try this, it might work but it might not, this seems to be a mitsi re programing thing...first , locate the data link plug ( obd plug or diagnostic plug as it is known) obtain a length of wire, as you look at the plug it will look like a pirimid with the top cut off ( sorry cant explain it any better) the TOP LEFT HAND SIDE( long bit) as you look at the plug, incert the wire in the first pin (pin 1), then connect the other end to a suitable earth on the body, with yourself inside the vehicle, shut all doors, press the hazard warning light 6 times within 10 seconds, the doors should lock then unlock, press the remote control lock or unlock (dosent matter wich) once, then press the lock or unlock button twice within 10 seconds, doors should lock then unlock, then you should have a programed key again, i hope this works for you, good luck
