SOURCE: buick century 2000 wipers

I found the following description on the web, this covers a bunch of the questions I was going to ask...

I own a 2000 Silo and wondered the same thing and do see some GM vans with this problem.

When I bought mine I also bought the Haynes Repair manual (1997 thru 2001 all models GM) #38036 to learn how to fix this and a LOT of other components in/on the van.

For $20 it's worth it.

To answer your question: If the wipers stop at the position they're in when the switch is turned off (Fail to park), disconnect the multi-function switch electrical connector. (This is located under the dash next to the firewall and steering column)

If the wipers now park, replace the multi-function switch. If the wipers still do NOT park, check the wiring from the wiper motor to the switch for a short circuit. If the circuits are good, replace the wiper motor.

Note: There are other adjustments needed for proper operation than just bolting and new motor on.

You can have a look at this manual at any automotive parts supply store.

SOURCE: odometer light out on buick century not working

Sadly no, there is no fuse or bulb to replace. You either have to send the instrument cluster out for repair or replace it with a new unit from the dealer. You could also obtain a serviceable one from a salvage yard. Most shops should be able to replace the instrument cluster or advise who can repair it.

SOURCE: 2000 Buick Century gas gauge reads full all the time

You're either looking at a short in the wire that goes to the fuel sender, or a bad fuel sender. If it was just a broken wire, it would read empty instead. The fuel sender is a permanent part of the fuel pump, so that has to be replaced as a unit.

Installing stainless steel braided brake lines?

Just make sure they are secured properly because they will move when pressure is applied. Make sure they are bled properly also because they may have a bigger inside diameter. Securing the braided lines is critical due to the movement.

yes, changing out the fuel line can be a job, because it is one piece of stainless steel tubing, you will also have to drop your fuel tank to connect the line there,if possible it would be a good idea to take this to the shop,,Sorry

How do I replace rear passenger broken glass in 2000 buick century?

Call around to junk yards, eventually one will have what you need and pull it off and sell it to you. Then find an auto glass shop in the phone book and pay them to put it in, cost less than a hundred bucks and well worth it if you eve tried to do it yourself.

How do I replace power window motor on my 2000 Buick Century?

Look on ebay and get the correct part, you might have to get the whole regulator as the teeth often strip. I would go with new unless way too expensive. Call around to glass shops in your area and have the cheapest one install the new regulator for you. Expect to pay about $60.00 + - $20.00. That is a bargain if you have ever tried to do one yourself.

How to replace a coolant level sensor, 2000 buick century

The coolant level sensor is located on the radiator. If you are looking at the engine from the front of the car it will be on the left side. There will some kind of clip holding it in the radiator. Removed the clip and pull the sensor out. You will lose coolant so try to swap it out quick or drain some of the coolant out. Once new sensor is installed, install clip to keep the sensor in place and reconnect the wires to the sensor. Crank the engine and make sure the coolant level is full. This should correct your problem.

Break line rusted out

WOW that's high. They are correct to want to replace all the lines, 'cause they could be liable if another one goes right after they fix it, and another probably will. I plow snow, and my trucks brake lines have been changed twice, due to road salt. I would get at least 2 more estimates. It is a nasty job, as everything you try to take off is rusted up bad, but I'm sure u can do better , possibly a private garage. There are stainless steel lines available on the internet, but not sure if your model is available. They cost a lot more than regular steel, but if u don't plan on keeping the car another 8 yrs. go for cheaper steel. good luck countrycurt0
