You probably have damaged the gas line a special line that links the pedal to the engine and you have damaged a spark plug and battery line in the car.

SOURCE: car dies but it starts after 4 minutes or less

If the engine is failing that fast, it is because something is getting too hot, then it allows the engine to run once it cools off. I believe you might have been on the right track with the ignition coil, and would be looking at the spark plugs, myself. Let us know if you need anything else!

SOURCE: 1996 Eclipse 2.0 starts but dies after warming up

Sound like a sensor problem, MAP or IAT sensor or coolant sensor. They all have to do with temperature. If you have a check engine light on it'll be easier just to have it scanned at an auto-parts store like Autozone. Then you can find out which sensor is responsible. In your vehicle I think the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) and the IAT (intake are temperature) are combined into one sensor. Have the car scanned at Autozone they do it for free. If no problem detected see which sensor is easiest to replace and do so. If you still have a problem replace the other sensor. After that if you still have a problem take it to a shop you might have a fuel problem or something more complicated. If you want more tips on troubleshooting the problem leave a post.

I have a 1993 ford festiva its a good little car it runs good when the engine is cold but when it warms up it sputters and dies on me when it dies it fires right back up like nothing ever happened It...

If it has an automatic choke, this will keep it revving more when the engine is cold and less when hot. Maybe adjust the idle setting screw on the carburettor so it revs slightly more. Try that before it is running hot. Only increase the revving gradually to the stage where stalling would be avoided when hot. Gradually so that there is not too much revving when cold. Adjusting and testing over a few runs could be a good strategy

Car died when stoped @ stop sign and now turns over but dont get init FIRE TO START

knowing GMs in those years, i'd check the CRANKshaft position sensor and the damper pulley/sensor wheel assembly way before the cam shaft sensors, as they had some probs with that for a while (late 80s and up usually), and second i'd check the IAC (idle air control) located on the throttle body. It looks like an electric motor and only has 2 torx screws holding it there. It controls the amount of air that goes into the engine at idle, and more or less closes up when you press the gas, and they were known to get dirty and jammed real fast on GMs, cause all kinds of great problems. Like on my 1990 Chevy Cavalier, when it jammed it either sputtered and died immediatly, or started to rev up to around 3k-3.5k RPM, often both sputtering and revving like crazy, and being automatic i had to hold the gas and brake on stop signs and red light to keep it stable and keep it from moving.

Sounds like bad fuel, dirty fuel, water in the gas tank or a fuel filter problem.

I drive a 2004 Pontiac Grand am GT. Today after I had to accelerator really quickly, my car started to mess up. I would hit the gas and my RPMS would go up an then fall right back down like the car was...

It sounds like your fuel filter is getting clogged. There is enough flow to allow the engine to run at low load, but as soon as you try to dump lots of fuel into the engine, there is not enough flow, and the engine dies. Replace the fuel filter.

We have a 96 2.0 eclipe. runs great till warms up then dies. has new fuel pump & coil pk. please help

Well you should not guess it can be costly!you should have a check engine light on. So you should have a OBD 2 scan done to retreve you fault code to fix your problem. However your problem is most likely"""most likey a Bank 1 O2 sensor the one in the engine manifold before the cadilac converter sounds like it is stuck in midrange! These 2.l are 'famous' for it soon as it cools down for a minute starts runs for a minute then shuts off corect!
