Question about 2002 Dodge Durango
I have a 2002 Durango SLT with 54,600 miles on it. This morning, when I put it in reverse to back out of the garage, it wouldn't go. It didn't roll back, like it usually does, and when I gave it a little gas, the engine just revved, but it didn't move backward. I put it in N, then Drive, but it wouldn't go forward either. No check engine light or anything. Just as I was ready to make an appointment to get it checked, I tried putting it in neutral and trying 4WD lo and hi. At first, it didn't go in hi, but after a second in lo, it made a "chunk" sound and backed up. I was also able to pull it forward. After that, it worked in 4WD hi, and also in regular 2WD. I've only driven it back and forth in the driveway, but I'm not sure if it's really "fixed." Anyone else had this problem? Should I take it in? Thanks for your help
If a customer came to me with this i would first check fluid level
before anything else
what you need to ask is if a maybe 100 diagnostics is worth saving the 2 grand to replace your transmission
