If you don't do much highway driving with your van you may have a carbon build up try some fuel njctor cleaner and mid grade gas for a tank or two If you go with the fuel additive rev your engine and watch for moisture and carbon from your exhaust contine to do this till exhaust is clear do not over rev ie do not hold it to the floor press he accelerator pedal and release

SOURCE: ENGINE SPUTTER AND DIES ON ACCELERATION

check your fuel filter, take an air compressor and blow air through the "in" end if no or little air is coming through then just replace the filter, if fuel filter is ok then try a fuel additive to clean your injectors which are a very common problem when the engine gets gunky build up on them

check for cracked or broken spark plug wires also check for a cracked or broken insulator on a spark plug the best time to look for those type of problems are at night with the hood up an doing a walk around the truck. if that is the problem you will see it.

Hesitancy sputter

Hello My Friend, hate to see you having problems with your vehicle! May i suggest you try this one procedure to check your fuel pump pressure while accelerating the engine to 2000 RPM. Electric fuel pumps start by-passing after so many miles of being used. And they show this in a strange and confusing way. Only way to catch this is by connecting a fuel gauge to the fuel rail of your truck and accelerate it to 2000 RPM, or what ever stage it stumbles. Your fuel pressure should hold steady at 55-60 PSI. If it drops down as you accelerate you need to replace the fuel pump in your tank. And this problem should go away. Hope this all works out for you Sir....

Check temp gauge if It doesn't get to normal heat range it won't idle. Your thermostat needs replacing.

Transmission light blinks numerous times then stays on and when accelerating engine sounds like it will cut off. I just bought this vehicle used. It sputters like it might have bad gas but it doesn't...

The blinking transmission light is trying to tell you there is a fault in your transmission control system. If the check engine light is on, there may be engine problems causing the transmission problems. The first thing that should be done is to scan your computer network for possible fault codes.

2000 dodge caravan sputters and dies when comming to stop restarts ok takes back off untill you stop again

You will have to check the MAP sensor. It's like the o2 sensor. It's the reason our 2000 Caravan had issues for dying and some acceleration probs. New wires and plugs will help, too.
