SOURCE: Where is the fuel filter located for Buick Century 2001

The fuel filter is located underneath the car in front of the gas tank.
You have release the fuel pressure. Remove the fuel filler cap, locate the fuel test port on the fuel rail on the passenger side on the end of the right real fuel rail for a 3.1L engine.
3.8L engine yhr test port is located at the pressure regulator under the trim cover.

Very carefully. Make sure your body is grounded so as to prevent electrical discharge that could activate the bag. Maybe it's something better left to the pros.

Ck engine light stays on and remains on after starting ,but goes out after driving aabout 2 blocks. Also experiencing some engine knock as with low octane fuel. Engine is 3.8 lt. 2007 buick allure...

Although your check engine light goes out on its own, the error code is still stored in the memory of the vehicle computer, so you should take it to your local auto parts store and have the code read. That should give you a good place to start troubleshooting.

Although some mechanics would give you a list of parts you can buy and install, most of the parts you would replace would not be needed. It is better to do a little troubleshooting before you throw parts at it - and cheaper!
