2001 dodge grand caravan heat issue

I have an '01 grand caravan. When I turn on the heat, both driver/pass set to hot, the drivers side stays/blows cold while the passenger side and rear works fine. Any ideas?
thanks.

Thanks, but as stated earlier, the passenger side vents and the rear vents will blow hot air when set to heat. it is only te drivers side vents that will not get hot.

    Hi Rylee,

Thnks for that info. Is there any chance that it could be the temp control slide on the dash went bad, or is that wishful thinking. Also, how would I disable the airbags?

    Thanks again.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. There are flaps that open when you turn on the heater, the flap on the driver side are not opening and you are getting cold air only, You'll need to remove dash and check for these flaps near the blower motor. Follow this procedure to remove the blower motor and check for the flaps--

  • First dissable the air bag system, open the glove compartment, squeeze the side in to release the glove box stops and lower glove box.

  • Remove glove box.

  • Blower Motor Cover- Remove (4) hex head screws to blower motor cover. Disconnect blower motor wiring.

  • Wiring Grommet-Feeding Wiring Through Housing. Remove grommet for wiring. Feed wiring through blower housing.

  • Blower Motor Screws-- Remove mounting screws for blower motor. Allow the blower assembly to drop down, and remove assembly from vehicle.

  • Installation:-For installation, reverse the above procedures.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

    Hi

    Air Bag Removal--

    • Open hood.

    • Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

    • Wait two minutes for the airbag system reserve capacitor to
discharge before attempting any airbag or instrument panel service.

    REMOVAL

WARNING: on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the
airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or
instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the
battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor
to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only
sure way to disable the air-bag system. Failure to take the proper precautions
could result in an accidental airbag deployment and possible personal injury or
    death.

NOTE: The blower motor is located on the passenger side of
the vehicle under the instrument panel. The blower motor can be removed from
the vehicle without having to remove the HVAC housing.

    • Disconnect
and isolate the negative battery cable.

    • Remove
the passenger side cowl trim panel.

    • Position
the carpet to access the front upper screw that secures the air inlet
      housing.

    • Remove
      the recirculation door actuator.

    • Disconnect
the blower motor wire lead connector from the blower motor resistor or
      power module, depending on application.

    • Remove
the one screw (from the top) that secures the lower air inlet housing to
      the upper air inlet housing.

    • Remove
the four screws (from the bottom) that secure the lower air inlet housing
to the upper air inlet housing and remove the lower HVAC housing.

    • Push
the rubber grommet through the opening in the lower air inlet housing.

    • Route
the blower motor wire lead through the opening in the lower air inlet
housing and remove the lower air inlet housing from the vehicle.

    • Position
the recirculation-air door as necessary to access and remove the three
screws that secure the blower motor to the lower half of the HVAC housing.

    • Gently
flex the recirculation air door downward to gain access to remove the
blower motor from the HVAC housing. NOTE: To aid in installation, note the
position of the blower motor mounting tabs prior to removal.

    • Remove
the blower motor from the HVAC housing by rotating and tilting the blower
      motor as necessary.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

Heat IS blowing out on drivers side, BUT it wont get hot ?
As long as you have heat, but not on passenger side, I would say your diverter is door is not operating, may be vacuum , or electrical, check under dash make sure no vacuum lines are leaking.
