i have this same problem. It seems like a gear is stripped out somwhere in the wiper/motor. The driver wiper goes too far and goes off the windshield when going over 50 MPH. I tried locating the wiper motor, but it is non existent in the engine compartment...PLEASE HELP

Could be they were installed wrong. You can turn them on and note there position. then shut them off and remove the wiper arms and position them corectly. It's a very easy operation. It could also be that something heavy like snow or ice was on them and they got turned on and it stripped the small fins inside the wiper arm and they moved just enough to be out of sync. It happens all the time. If this is the case the arms may need changing. hope this helped.

Done this a few times...finally figured it out....if popped off because turned on when frozen.....connect where it came a part....then pop off from wiper motor....back bar connects to both spindals...rotate the bar on drive side till back in sync....reconnect to wiper motor...power on/off till lines Fixed....96 Buick....hope this Helps for future folks...

You could also see if the bolts holding the wipers on came loose from the snow and ice. Pop the cover off, loosen and straighten the wipers where they should be and tighten.

Resetting wiper arms. Ice damage

Well pop the two little black plastic top hats off of the wiper arm mounts and losen the nuts. Turn your wipers off and tighten them in the lower position. There should be visible mark on the widshield where the wipers have spent most of there time sitting. If you have them to low when you turn them on you will be able to tell by how high the go up on the windshield.Well hope this helped.

2000 Buick Century, Spavinaw, OK, December 26, 2009, 13:21 driving home in snow storm and passenger side quit working , the drivers side works - cleared out all the snow and ice and still does not work...

Remove the wiper arm and check the serrated hub to see if it sheared a pin holding it to the shaft. If it is ok, then you may have a broken/loose part in the linkage. Good luck!

How do I remove my wiper arms on my 91 Buick Century?

If I remember correctly if you lift the wiper arm and push this clip in it will hold the wiper up and also release it from the transmission. You will have to wiggle the arm to get loose.

Good luck.....
