Air condisioner compressor will not engage


Possible that the AC switch is faulty or the SOLENOID CLUTCH is not working thereby not activating the pulley to turn the compressor.
If so it can be failure of the solenoid.

Air condition does not work just hot air I have set it to auto or manul it just give me hot air


Your freon level is low. Go to any shop that charges car air conditioners and get your freon recharged. Usually the charge is around $25-50. Joe

Air condition blows hot air but it has freon


You may have created an over charged condition and at this point the a/c compressor will cut off on high head pressures. This can be verified by installing gauges to the systems high and low side service taps and reading the pressures.An overcharged system will start the compressor briefly but soon cuts off once pressure goes to 350 - 400 lbs on the high side. Acceptable pressures for this system should be no greater than 250 high and low suction should drop to 40-50 psi.You might recover the charge and evacuate the system,then try bringing the charge back to proper level.A sight glass in the reciever drier really helps determining proper fill.Once all bubbles have dissipated from the sight glass during charging ,one should stop at that point to avoid overfilling.Too much freon is worse than a low charge especially in hot ambient conditions....

Did you have compressor checked to make sure it is not the problem? Or did you just charge due to lack of cool air? Some parts stores can check it. Garages too.. If not the prob let me know..

How would i charge my A/C in my Ford Windstar Van '98


buy a charge hose and pag46 oil charge/and freon about 3 cans 134a/u may not need all the cans but just in case its empty .//look for large ac line/hose and follow it to the small service port this is where u charge, the small line/hose with the large port is no t ur concern u can only hook up to low side ,,,,with ac on and engine running high blower max air,recerculation button on charge system untill ac stops cycleing on and off then charge about a 1/2can/dryer(large can looking thing should get very cold/more freon does not mean more cold so dont over do it

Low refrigerant charge or a sticking blender door. Check the suction line for temperature. A cold tube means that the charge is fine.

check the 2 large hoses that come from the radiator, at the radiator and at the engine. if not there then your losing water into your engine, probably means your head gasket is cracked and about to blow

On a w body car with a single temp adjustment control (not a dual zone) your problem should be a low refrigerant charge. Due to the design of this evaporator, a low refrigerant charge will cause the furthest areas from the inlet and outlet hoses (the drivers side) to not remove the heat from the incoming air. This allows the air on the drivers side to be outside temp but refrigerated on the passenger side. In cars with Dual Zone controls you must not only verify the refrigerant charge level, but also check the mode doors which control the air flow and regulate the temp. To check the refrigerant level do not use pressure gauges alone. Verify a proper charge level by checking the temperature of the two aluminum lines going in to the firewall of the vehicle. With the A/C set to high the temperatures should be within 5 degrees of each other. If not, then there is a charge issue. I hope this helps
