You're probably going to have to get professional help.
White smoke is usually burning coolant. In a previous post you said the intake gaskets were replaced, so if they are installed correctly, it could be a bad head gasket.
If it is coolant leaking into the engine, you should also be low on coolant in the radiator.

The coolent level is still the same, the light hasn't came on, but how do I check to see if that's the case and is here a solution that I can use to seal it up for a while until I get a ne engine?

A mechanic would check for exhaust fumes in the cooling system, and the spark plugs for coolant residue among other things. If the amount of coolant loss is low, it could be tough to find the source.

SOURCE: buick lesabre nightmare 2

  • The PCM doesn't even see the O2 sensor until engine temp has reached operating temp, the vehicle goes from open loop when cold,to closed loop when warm, where the PCM uses the O2 sensor to measure the rich/lean of the exhaust content, and from that, adjust fuel richness to achieve 14.7 to 1 air/fuel ratio. So when cold, the O2 sensor is out of the picture anyways. When unplugging sensors,it can be deceitful. The PCM has a program whereas,if a critical sensor (such as the mass air flow) is somehow damaged and out of the picture, the PCM will substitue a generic value that will allow the engine to stay running. So,by unplugging the MAF,it did try to run on it's own better than plugged in,there's the problem area. The vehicle is running better with the MAF unplugged, because the MAF is likely bad,and the PCM is substituting it's generic value when it IS unplugged.Something to recheckThe PROM update is a newer program for the PCM,and likely won't fix it unless the PCM is bad.I would try a good used PCM as a last or later resort, because i have seen my fair share of defective PCM's too.I have taken some PCM's apart, and found capacitors that had gone bad and leaked all over the circuit board, mostly Honda and Mitsubishi and Chrysler though.Good luck, keep me posted.

SOURCE: I have a 1999 oldsmobile

fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail is probably it or the egr valve is stuck open allowing burnt fuel to flood the intake, im leaning towards the fuel pressure regulator because the o2sensor is probably reading rich or if its reading lean then i would choose the egr valve . good luck

SOURCE: fans run constantly

Irwinr12 is right, no amount of fan will keep the Regal from warming up if the thermostat is working properly, Replace it. Clear SES light with OBDII tool & you should be good to go. BTY its the car computer that keeps the fans running, and they will continue to run until you clear the code. Any kind of cooling/overheating proiblem will kick in the SES light and set both fans running. I own '01 GS, my son has '03 GS and we have both complete set of service manuals. Trust me, do what I say. Batman

I have a Buick regal super charged 98 and it starts to smoke after about 10 mins of driving from the hood white smoke and light smoke from the tail pipe also white it says change oil and service engine

It sounds like you may have a leaking engine head gasket as it is a VERY expensive repair if that is the problem I strongly recommend you have it confirmed by a local dealer.

2001 Buick Regal keeps stalling and running rough has white smoke coming out of tail pipe

The upper intake plenum is leaking coolant into the cylinder heads. The head gaskets on this motor are awesome. So, chances are it's the upper intake plenum. You can check this, by removing the vacuum hose that runs between the upper plenum and the brake booster. Stick your finger in and try to touch the top of the lower intake manifold. If your finger is wet it the upper plenum. You might as well replace the lower intake gasket while you're performing this work because they are prone to failure also. Use a shop vac to pull any coolant out of the cylinder heads. Get brand new spark plugs because the old ones are probably fouled. Once you get the plenum and gaskets replaced, remove your fuel pump relay and leave the spark plugs out and turn the engine over repeatedly for about 10 seconds to push any excess coolant out of the cylinder heads. Then, put the spark plugs in and turn the engine over for 10 seconds again. This will burn excess fuel as coolant out. Then, replace the fuel pump relay to allow fuel to be pumped into the heads. Car will smoke for a few when it fires up, but will clear out quickly. CHANGE THE OIL! Twice within a week if possible.

White smoke coming from the tail pipe when i start the car

if its happening during non cold weather then you may have a head gasket going bad and need replacement.you can have a combustion chamber test and a co test done on the cooling system to see if anything shows.be aware that may not show a problem depending on how early on the gasket is in deterioration.have you had to add coolant to the system or have recently noticed the level going down in the overflow bottle or rad.this is another way of showing a possible head gasket problem.white smoke indicates the burning of coolant.

My 1985 buick regal limited lets smoke into the car when i turn on the heater..what can cause this?? also when i open hood i see a little bit of smoke too?? if oil is burning on top of the motor, can it get...

If the smoke is white it may have a small coolant leak in the heater core. This would look more like a light fogging over the windshield when running the defrost rather than smoke though. Hope this helps.

My 01 buick regal's service engine soon lite is blinking and my car shakes when i turn it on...also seems like there is white smoke and some water coming out of my muffler. Can u help me please?

I would take it to a real garage, moisture out the tail pipe can indicate perfect combustion, blowing out accumulated condensation, or a bad gasket which is allowing coolant into the combustion chamber. I would suspect the latter in your case and this is not good.
