I'm not sure exactly what you mean by where to hook it up?

you have to hook it up, where it came loose from , which is your negative side of battery
the other side goes to engine block
if you look at engine block there is a round spot where it used to be ,cleaner than rest of it,the bolt must have came loose

some models have longer cable(if that is your case)

then in the middle of cable there is another bolt that hold it to some part of the car,( like a hold down) it is not actually connected to to inside the cable

,it just there to hold down to long length of cable so it won't get loose and touch some moving part ( like fan alternator, ETC)

if the car still run just use zip tie, for now till you have time to find the exact location

SOURCE: Battery replacement in a 1995 miata

Is there not a red lead going to one side of your battery. That should be the positive. Or look for the one going to your starter. That should be the positive.

No offence but are you sure that the cables are correct. If it started when new battery was connected you can try re-connecting making sure positive cables and negative cables are correct if still wont start you will have to follow all connections and possibly disconnect any thing extra that may be connected to battery such as stereo or power booster or ? only have connected what is needed to start and use the process of elimination procedures . Hopefully this helps some what .
If you can provide any more details that may help

Battery runs flat

Power drain is never fun to find. The easiest way to track down your draw is to remove the negative battery cable and hook a 12volt test light between the cable and the negative battery post. The test light will light up showing that you have a power draw. I will usually start by unhooking the alternator as it is quite common for the alternator to loose a diode internally making for a dead short, but still able to charge with engine running. Anyway, unhook the alternator and observe the light. Does it get dim or change at all? if so, replace the alternator. If not, hook the alternator back up and move to the under hood power distribution center. Remove one fuse at a time and look at the test light, if you pull a fuse and the light goes out then you have at least narrowed your search down to one circuit. from there look to the owners manual as to what is associated with that fuse circuit and look for your short.

Dome lights and power door locks no working on nissan sentra

Try disconnect negative battery cable for 10 seconds, then reconnect. In my case, after leaving lights on and draining battery, power locks on 2001 Sentra were not working, neither with remote fob or inside car. I have no idea why, but with above procedure, everything now works fine.

I got no signal to the starter, but i can push start it ok, igntion switch and clutch switch check out ok anyone know of any common problems?

I would say you don't have a good battery connection so I would say take the negative cable loose first then take the positive cable loose.Take some 100-150 grit sandpaper and clean off both the battery terminals and both cable ends as well and hook the positive cable up first then hook up the negative cable next that should solve your problem.

Replacing a battery on a 2003 Nissan Sentra

if you have access to a booster pack, hook it up to the battery cable terminals before starting, this will keep power in the car and prevent you from losing your radio memory etc. the battery should be held down by 2 10mm bolts on threaded rods - loosen one, and remove the other and swing the hold down out of the way. loosen and remove battery terminals - first negative, then positive. remove battery. if the there is any corrosion on the cable terminals, clean it off now with a wire brush. put new battery into position. reconnect terminals and tighten - first positive then negative. remove booster pack (if you are using one). reposition battery hold down and tighten nuts - not too tight, just enough to hold the battery steady. if there is a plastic case around the battery, don't forget to put it around the new one. if you have one, and it does not fit the new battery (this is common), don't worry, its not really a necessary item, they typically get thrown away. good luck!
