Question about 2000 Buick Century
The Check Engine light indicates that there's an engine trouble code stored in your computer. What is the code? Some auto parts stores can check the code for you, and possibly turn it off for you. If the problem that triggered the code originally is still there, the light will return. You need to know what the code is before you can do anything about it.
Replacing a sensor might have fixed the problem, but some codes do not delete themselves automatically once the error is fixed.
Replacing your key does nothing but support the locksmith.
