What is the weight of a 1981 21ft. Grew Boat Model 215

Going to between the 200 and 224. Weight is listed for both. You could just drop the boat and trailer on a weighbridge.

I need the boat and trailer (stock trailer) weight

Pull the trailer and boat to a scale and weigh it to get the exact weight. Most trucking companies, gravel yards, junk yards or even a state scale where they check for overweight trucks have scales to do that.

Air bubble in Steel boat compass

Most compasses have a port that allows you to refill the chamber with oil. The oil dampens the movement of the card inside so the right weight oil is needed. Contact the maker of the compass to get the weight needed and find out where it leaked out, probably that same port. The seals go bad after time, sun and elements.

An easy way to install the starter

Hello, I learned a trick from putting in a boat starter on a cabin cruiser. Not sure it will help you, but here it is. I used a rope around the starter to hold it up while I tried to start a guide bolt in. It took enough weight off the starter for me to get a bolt started.

Once I had 1 bolt started, it carried the weight and I could juggle the starter into position. On my boat, I used the exhaust manifold to tie off one end of the rope. You may have to back off a transmission bell housing bolt to do the same.

Or you may be able to wedge a piece of wood from the floor to under the starter to help with alignment and weight. You may need enough extensions to reach from the bolt on the starter to the front of the engine, about 36 inches.

Be sure to position your wheels to allow for clearance under the starter, as tierods can get in the way.

Car will run when in park but dies when in gear and comes to a complete stop. the vehicle will not start after it has died at a stop. codes are p1537 and p1538. both say manifold control vehicle speed,...

i went threw same problem its your runner control valves on the passenger side of your ford. theres two of them there s one right behind the altinator and the other is right next to it check them before changing them it could be these stupid little clips ford put on them to hold the hooks in place if they are broken it would cause your ford to shut off. if still cant find the runner control valves go to under search type in runner control valve it ll show you a pic of it now for the clips you can buy them at ford dealer ship or buy door clips and use does which i ve seen done and i havent heard any complaints about it if there not broken try testing the runner control valve. this needs two people one to push on the gas the other to do the test by removing one of the hoses of the valves with your finger hold close the hose and tell the other person to push on the gas pedal if the other runner control valves moves then that one is fine and move on to doing the same to the other until you find which one is broken

Towing capacity of a 1.8L Nissan Primera Station Wagon

1500Kg is more likely to be the maximum towing weight.

You should, in theory, be able to launch and recover a boat/trailer of this combined weight ok, but in practise you need to consider how slippery the ramp is and if your front wheel drive vehicle will be able to cope with it.

Use a long strop attached to the trailer and looped around the towing hitch, to launch and recover the boat, so your car stays well away from the water.

You could have some problems getting enough grip with your front wheel drive, when recovering a boat.

I have had to recover my boat from a rocky beach when I couldn't get it back to the launch ramp because of bad weather. I was very thankful that I had a four wheel drive car for that.

What ever you do, ALWAYS plan carefully exactly how you are going to do the launch or recovery and make sure you stop and think about it before doing it.

Regards, Andy
