Look under hood fire wall where heater hoses runs to heater core should see heater control valve.

SOURCE: how do I replace blower motor for heat and air


Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the right side sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.


  2. tif.gif
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the blower motor.
  4. Disconnect the blower ventilation tube (2) from the module.

  6. Remove the blower motor screws (1).
  7. Remove the blower motor from the housing.
Installation Procedure
    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
  1. Install the blower motor into the housing.

  3. Install the blower motor screws (1) .
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).

  5. Install the blower ventilation tube (2) to the module.
  6. Connect the blower motor electrical connector (1) .
  7. Install the right side sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

Dash vents blowing cool air instead of heat


You have problem in 1) Your air flow system have gone down and some plastic valves that opens to cold position or to hot position is broken. Solution: remove panel and check this plastic valves that controls airflow.
2) Your heat salon radiator is very poor and can't blow in all directions. Solution: replace salon heat radiator.
3) Your cooling system don't have good limit of coolant. Solution: fil it to min - max position.
4) Your cooling system isn't bleeding. Solution: make system without air in it.

2002 chevy malibu heat not working


there is a seperator valve under the hood it mite be faulty. or could be ththe air seperaitor under the dash .this is the door that controlls where youre car draws air from..eather cold air or air heated by the heater core.wich may also be youre problem.there is multible things that could cause this problem .hope this helps you good luck

Air conditioner blows heated air

If the compressor is running and the system is full of freon, you may have a blend door problem under the dash. The blend door directs air flow thru the heater core and evaporator core depending on the temp setting on the dash.

05 sorento heater not heating everything else works fine but no heat?


First, check your coolant if it's full, or has gone deplete because there been issue with the sorentos which kia doesn't acknowledge of a loose or leaking radiator plug which loose coolant. With low coolant, the heating system would not work since it's only sucking in air. 2) If that is not the case, then you maybe looking at a case of a plugged heater core, or thermostat being stuck open. The position of the air temperature valve in the air conditioning housing under the dash (which determines how much of the total airflow is permitted to pass through the heater) is stuck. The valve position determines the warmth of the overall air flow that is sent into the passenger compartment. This door-like valve redirects air flow. In some positions such as defrost the AC comes on to dehumidfy the air to aid in clearing the windows during high humidity. You may need to take a look behind the glove box compartment and dissemble the blower motor and clean around. It may work, if not you will need to get it to a shop as the heater core probraly bad or leaking.

Air conditioning blows cold through the defroster vent.It quit blowing through the dash vents completely.


Your control valve for your duct work is having a small problem, its just not opening. The duck system work lid the heat/ac ducts at your home. The only difference is you can control through a vacuum controlled valve where you want the air to flow. What has happened, is the valve has shut the system at the neck( where duct is connected for all the vents) There are three areas that could be wrong. 1- a vacuum line has come apart or broke( they are just made of rubber). The line would have to be replaced. 2- the controlling valve is stuck, and either needs to be unjammed or replaced. 3- your control unit(mounted on the dash, the one you use to adjust everything) has gone out. Being you have an older car(great year for caprice)you also have some cables on the control unit. One of these may have gave way(broke) or the plastic clips that hold them may have snapped. You can manually ope the vents from under the dash. It will be under the center toward the passenger side. You will see the ducts leading back to your control box. you can also see the rads and control lines there. just adjust the arm til you get air in the vents. its a tight fit, smaller hand work great for that. Toyota 4-runner heat will not blow hot air. blower works and air conditioning works


Thermostat stuck open,heater core clog, those are the most common causes for no heat, sometimes a leak can create an air pocket, so also check for leaks.

My heat want get hot but it blows


For one reason or another your heater core is not recieving any circulation. It could be a frozen heater switch valve or ( diverter valve ). That is located in line under the hood on one of the heater hoses running into the firewall. Check it for operation. If that is okay check for plug in heater hose or a pinched condition of supply lines. If the blower blows but you dont feel any air movement then the
air control gates under the dash arent working. They are vacuum controlled and hoses get old and crack and break or pulled so check all the vacuum elements on the climate control center under the dash. If you feel air but not from the vents then a length of duct work came disconnected or it cracked somewhere.

Let me explain in layman's terms how the air conditioning (AC) system works and what could be happening to your car.

Like your body, the air conditioning compressor is the heart of the AC system, and Freon is the blood. The compressor pumps Freon throughout the AC system, either the older type R12 which costs as much as gold it seems these days, or the new environmentally-friendly R134A Freon. This Freon is a gas and liquid combination that is compressed and circulated throughout the air conditioning system. The compressed Freon is pushed through the system under pressure and is passed through different sized metal and rubber hoses and a special valve called an expansion valve that cause the gas to expand and contract.

This expansion and contraction makes the Freon gas very cold. This cold gas makes its way via metal lines into the dash area of your vehicle to the evaporator core. This evaporator core is like a small radiator, except it has cold Freon circulating inside and not hot antifreeze. A small fan (the AC blower fan which you control from the control panel on the dash) sits in front of the evaporator core and blows air across this cold evaporator and then through the vents inside your vehicle.

The other objective of the air conditioning system is to remove the heat from inside the cab of the vehicle. This heat is removed by the Freon with the help of the AC condenser located at the front of the car (usually in front of the radiator). The Freon coming back from the evaporator carries the heat from the cab to the condenser via rubber and metal hoses. Just like your radiator, the condenser is lightweight aluminum with many internal winding coils.
The Freon travels through these coils, and in between these coils are small slits or fins that the Freon is forced through. The condenser will have an electric cooling fan mounted in front or behind it to push or pull air through these fins to remove the heat from the Freon. Some vehicles still use the old fashioned fan blade driven by the engine to pull air across the radiator and the condenser.
Now I know that is just a tidbit of information on how the air conditioning system works, and it is very general, but I wanted you to know what to look for to give you insight as to what might be happening with your vehicle.
A few causes of low cooling efficiency or no cooling at all at idle are:

Lack of air flow across the condenser. Make sure the electric cooling fan motor near the condenser is coming on, or in models that are equipped with a fan blade make sure this fan is turning and is turning very fast.

Low Freon levels. Freon level and pressure should be checked by your certified air conditioning mechanic.

Overheating. If the engine is running hot or overheating, it can have a noticeable negative affect on the air conditioning system. Some cars have two electric cooling fans, one for the air conditioning condenser and the other for the radiator. Make sure they are both working properly. Usually at idle on a hot day with the AC on both fans will be on.

When the vehicle is traveling at freeway speeds, the compressor is pumping the Freon throughout the system much faster and harder than at idle. There is a dramatic increase in air flow across the condenser due to 55 mph winds, and the engine is usually operating at a cooler, more efficient temperature as well, thus allowing the air conditioning system to operate efficiently.
Note: An air conditioning system that is somewhat low on Freon can still feel comfortable at freeway speeds due to the added air flow across the condenser which can overcome the ill effects of slightly low Freon. Periodic air conditioning performance checks by your mechanic are the best way to keep the system in great shape.

The pulley on the air condition has to turn it has a belt on it. The Compressor engages to pre cool the evaporator. Most likely you have a blend door pod leak or leak in the hose or the sampler valve is bad. I would replace the sampling valve behind the glove box/air bag. As that reads the cabin temp and if it thinks the car is cold the heat will stay on because everything is automatic. All vents will blow cold when it thinks its hot and in addition to floor and corner dash center vents will blow cold when it works. If the direction of air is correct then the A/C system may have a leak or need a charge of freon.
