When the gas-cap is plugged, you build up vacuum in the gas- tank and cause the gas flow to stop.
Use premium gas only, ETHANOL in the mix is attracting moisture/water which is part of the problems.
1st move is to ck the fuel PSI & emissions. Possible cooling system cause.Scan computer & check sensor readings & the emissions readings are the first moves. Check spark plugs, ignition spark etc. Good luck
I would change the oil, disconnect the coil or fuel pump and crank the engine for several minutes to let the oil pump work. Put a few gallons of fresh gas in the tank, and see what happens. You may have to run that gas out and then replace the fuel filter. If it starts ok, just let it idle for several minutes before you raise RPM. Listen for noises and see if the cooling system works. There is a chance you may have to change the trans fluid and filter after you try to drive it. And after driving a few miles, be sure and check the brakes and all of the engine hoses for leaks.
you are loosing power. gas doesnt burns well, maybe leak coming form your catalytic converter.
but try new spark plugs then new distributor cap, but still mis-firing, ignition coil might be problem.also try filling up injection cleaner first of 8 oz. full to your tank. run your car for few minutes to clean up your fuel injector that was cloggeup.
