Question about 2005 Buick LaCrosse
How difficult is it to fix the drain from a sun roof that is leaking on to the floor board in the passinger side.
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Tricky, tricky, tricky...Well, if the heater core and all connecting hoses are not leaking, the only other place that I could see water coming from would be a leaky windshield. Have you looked up around the windshield to see if there is any moisture around the trim? If the heater core and hoses aren't leaking, and the windshield isn't leaking either, the only other possibility that I can think of would be that perhaps your passenger side door has bad weatherstripping/seal. There just isn't anywhere else for it to be coming in. It kind of bites that you had to replace the heater core if it does turn out to be a leaky window or door seal, but at least you can comfort yourself in thinking that you have a 1986 Buick that eventually would have needed a new heater core, probably sooner rather than later, and now you wont have to worry about it for as long as you'll own that car. Just be glad that you were able to get it replaced at a far more convenient time than having to get stranded somewhere or a time when you didn't have the funds to do so. Hope this helps. Try to stay dry and have a great day!

SOURCE: sunroof leak
there are drain hoses on all all four corners of the sunroof. to access the front ones, remove the front inner fender liners. you'll probably see a plastic grommet/spout that the drain hose attaches to. in the rear, remove the trunk liners on the side. you should see the drain hoses running down the inside of the quarter panel.

Taste the water and if it is sweet it is coolant leaking from the heater core. If it does not taste sweet it is a leak somewhere else. What you suspect is very possible. Start by making sure the drain hose is clear an not clogged. Then check the window gasket. A water hose left running on the window slightly will tell you where the leak is coming from.

turn wiper on until straight up then turn off ignition.
Open hood and disconnect the hard washer hose from the clips on the passenger side cowling.
remove the 3 plastic screw/ clips that hold the cowling in place and remove it.
Check the cabin filter is properly seated .. (probably needs replacement anyway).
Most of type of these cars (GM) have the same issue with the cabin filter If the gasket wears out or it;s not seated properly or missing completely water enters through the vent

You need to carefully look just at or slightly below bottom of the air conditioner housing on the engine side of the firewall. Probably more visible from underneath the car. What you are looking for is a small rubber stub hose that sticks out from the wall. If that gets plugged (it's a drain for condensation) water will back up into the housing and leak on the floor. usually you can clear it by rolling the end between your fingers or sticking s short object in the end (not too long or too hard or you can punch a hole in the evaporator or heater core). if you have a problem finding it, cruise through a parking lot 'till you see a car like yours and ask to look.... Make sure their a/c works and drains though so you can find it.
It's best to look with the engine and ac on so it's actually working. NEVER put your hands into the engine bay when the engine is running though!!!
