2004 lincoln town car inst

Occasionally for a year or so, the backing parking assist becomes "disabled" for no apparent reason, then resumes normal operation. Recently, after normal engine start up and driving for several minutes, the instrument cluster (right side - fuel econ, dist to empty, etc) flashes/flutters on/off and dims/brighens intermitantly, and then usually locks up in one display mode or goes blank. It then usually resumes normal operation after a few minutes, but can repeat the above malfunction later on for no apparent reason. The parking assist problem has not changed and the left side cluster display appears to operate normally. Any ideas as to cause and suggested fix?

93 Lincoln Town Car was stolen, this left behind...any idea of what/how????

This a "valet Key" I thought Lincoln had stopped using the things. It's a plastic key attached to a plastic card. When you want to let a valet park your key, you supposedly punch out the plastic key and it's supposed to be good for one (1) parking assignment; there after the key degrades with use and becomes worthless. The reason Ford stopped issuing them is evidenced by the loss of your car.

I have a 99 lincoln town car and for some reason my park lights and tail lights stop working but i have headlights and brake lights and 4 ways. can you help

a_carradine,

Chances are you have a bad bulb. Change all bulbs for the parking and tail lights, making sure as well that they are the correct format (i.e. 1156, 1157 etc).

I suggest contacting a local auto parts dealer for specific indications for these bulbs. They will let you know what correct bulbs to use. You will want to check the fuse panel and make sure the fuses for these are not blown or missing.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance with this matter.
