Hood Latch Cable Broke

Someone with a lot of patience and persistence can use a strong piece of wire such as a straightened coat hanger to release a hood latch from underneath the car. It is a good idea to have someone press down on the hood to release spring tension. Yanking on the inside release won't accomplish much. I have done this task. It wasn't fun

How do I gain access under the hood?

By pulling the hood release located inside the vehicle on the drivers side. If the inside latch is not broken have someone push down very hard on the hood while you pull on the hood release. If the inside latch is broken you may be able to get under the front of the vehicle and use a long screwdriver to reach up and pop the latch.

Hood latch not releasing...cable is do i open

I would suggest trying the following.
1 I would spray WD40 into the area where the latch mechanism is for the Hood. Then I would go inside and pull the hood release a few times. Then I would repeat the procedure.
2 If that didn't work I would have someone inside the car pull the release cable and hold it in the pulled position while I PUSHED DOWN on the hood then PULL UP HARD, IF POSSIBLE. Sometimes the hood will sort of unsnap.
3 If that didn't work, I would pull very hard on the release. While someone pushed down on the hood.
Usually you have success by this step. When you have success getting it open. DON'T CLOSE IT.
1 Lubricate is with grease and free up the mechanism so that it purrs like a kitten.
There should be some sort of adjustment you can make to center the latch mechanism so the Hood mates without any sort of offset that can create tension on the mechanism and cause you to use profanity profusely regarding the illegitimate birth of the engineer who designed this latch.

Hood latch is pulled open but hood is stuck closed how do I get the latch to release.

Have one person pull on the latch inside and the other person pull up on the hood (sometimes depending may have to use a thin screwdriver to pry up carefully not to chip the paint). Once open lube the hood latch under the hood with wd-40. Make sure the latch inside is still connected to the wire.

Hello. This is a very common problem on your vehicle, they even have a special tool to help. You have two options, take off the wheel and inner wheel liner and try to reach up with a coat hanger bent into a hook to release the latch, or make, ( or buy ) a tool to go in through the door jamb under the hood and release it. Both ways are a bit tricky, but it can be done.
