SOURCE: Where is the asd relay on my 1990 dakota?

ASD is in the engine compartment fuse block.

The pump relay should be there also. Check your fuse panel in the truck though.

Fuses, Relays & Circuit Breakers The fuse panel box is to the right of the glove box with the glove box door opened or beneath the instrument panel (dashboard) on 1989-93 models.

Re: 1993 Dodge Dakota, where might I find the fuel pump reset button or inertia switch? Thank you.

  • You have an Automatic Shut Down Relay or "ASD Relay" not so much a "switch." The ASD relay inside the power distribution center which is under the hood on the left corner of the engine compartment. Under the lid is a legend that will pinpoint it's location in said box. I would look at this if your having problems with the fuel pump. Should you need to replace the pump the tank must be dropped for this vehicle.

Is their a fuelpump reset button on my dodge dakota pickup 4by4 3.9 (le)

No.
The Fuel Pump is controlled by the SBEC Controller through the Auto Shutdown
Relay (ASD). For testing purposes and using an Enhanced Scan Tool, both ASD and Fuel Pump operation can be easily tested.
Also, the Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC) WHEN Ignition Switch is in the
RUN position, requires a distributor reference signal or it will de-energize the ASD.

94 dakota 5.2 - where is ''roll over'' sensor located on vehicle?

un-plug the ecm " computer module " it should be under the hood by the passengers side on top of the fender.
it's a box with three connectors to it.
un-plug them all three for 5 min or so.
and plug them back up.
see if that helps to start it.
i had a 96 and i replaced everything and still will stall or have problems starting it up.
finally i un-plugged the computer and it will run fine for 15 or even a month without any issue, so my conclusion was that the ecm was bad.
