You can clean the area really good with degreaser and apply JB Weld but that is only a temporary fix it will leak again

Did the bolt break off flush with the top of the hole? or if you remove the cover is some bolt sticking up? if there is try and use vice grips to get ahold if the bolts if it is flush then drill the bolt out and re-tap the hole. Way cheaper and likely less work too...

oil from the pcv valve going into your intake manifold will cause a gasket to swell. but it should not be to the point where it's noticeable. you should probably replace the intake manifold gasket at this point.

if you've got no spare parts left over, (extra bolts, nuts, screws, maybe a coolant temp sensor) make sure the coolant isnt coming up through a bolt that's screwed into the head. some of the bolts that go into the head actually pass through the coolant galleys. these require a sealant to be applied to the bolt before being installed.
