When the system goes into to Limp Home mode it means that a serious fault has occurred in the electronics or a mechanical failure has been sensed. What you need to do now is have the computer control system scanned for fault codes, this (the fault codes) will give you a starting point to diagnose the problem that has caused the Limp Home mode to be initiated by the computer control module.
you take it to an accredited service center with experience on your make of car , have them read the fault codes and fix what is putting the limp mode on
bypassing the system will only cost you lots pf money as that system is there to save money
You need to have someone very experienced with these cars look at it and give you a price on the repair.I am sure there is a european repair facility that has been in business for several years close to you.Whoever told you you needed a "valvetronic" would have given you a price on the parts and labor to install if they knew what they were talking about.Do not let someone guess at what is wrong , parts for this car are expensive and a good diagnostic will well worth the money.Sometimes mechanics will say you need a part that they dont install to get you to leave so they dont have to admit they have not got a clue what is wrong.Any professional will supply the diagnostic , the labor , the parts and a warranty on all .If someone sugests any other way I would be suspitious.Good luck! Let me know if I can help you find a shop.
jaguar x-type 2ltr diesel 2004 the glow plug warning light flashing, was told dirty fuel on fault code all fuel changed and filters. No problems for 20 miles untill engine was put under power on high revs went into limp mode, warning light glow plug falshing again? any ideas thanks.
Check the ABS brake sensors in your wheels, if they are not functioning properly. It will trigger the computer to engage the ASC auto stability control light as the asc uses the brakes to assist in control. I will also engage the EML engine management light to slow the rev point to limp mode
the engine control unit has detected a fault light illuminated which in turn reduces ability to gain high revs as a damage limitation exercise , known as limp home , car requires diagnostic computer to check fault codes to indicate faulty component causing ecu to go into limp home mode
