SOURCE: I have a nissan silvia s13. There was recently an

An exhaust joint has opened up when(by the sound of it) the exhaust pipe also got rammed. Probably the pipes have buckled a bit, forcing open one of the clamped joints along the pipe somehwere. May need one or more sections replacing, as tightening the joint will hardly ever work with such damage. This needs doing asap, as the exhaust gases are more dangerous than they smell!

Engine block numbers

SR = engine code
20 = 2.0 liters
Nissan motor made by "bullet", very high performance race engine, some producing over 1500 hp!!!!! Worth about $8500 (thats dollars) here is a sr block:f317699f-3f13-4aff-bfc7-d3d453d10c26.jpg
The Nissan SR engine is a 1.6 L, 1.8 L, or 2.0 L, straight-44-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine manufactured by Nissan Motors. It features an aluminum head and aluminum block with steel sleeves in selected models and features a DOHC 4-valve design, with variable valve timing on select models. The engine was used in many small to medium Nissan vehicles, including high-performance turbocharged variants. It was designed by Nissan as a replacement for the earlier CA series of engines.

The Nissan SR20DE engine was used in over 15 Nissan models. It first appeared in October 1989, and over time it was gradually phased out with the introduction of the QR (low-emissions) engine family. The SR20DE carried nominal power ratings between 130 to 169 Horsepower (96 to 126 kW) from the factory.
The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:
  • SR - Engine Code
  • 20 - 2.0 Litres
  • D - Dual Overhead Cam
  • E - Multi-port Fuel Injection

This engine has the following specifications (SAE, 1991)
The Specs Type: Water cooled, 4 cycle in-line 4 cylinder Combustion Chamber: Cross flow, pentroof type Valve mechanism: DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder, chain drive Displacement: 1998cc Bore x Stroke: 86.0 x 86.0mm Bore Pitch: 97.0mm Block Height: 211.3mm Compression ratio: Crankshaft journal diameter: 55.0mm Crankpin diameter: 48.0mm Con rod length: 136.3mm Valve diameters: Intake: 34.0mm, Exhaust: 30.0mm Dimensions: 685 x 610 x 615mm Maximum power: 140 hp-169 hp at 6400 rpm (SAE net) Maximum torque: 132 lb·ft at 4800 rpm (SAE net) It was used in the following vehicles:

My 1991 4x4 nissan pickup leans to one side the front passenger side it has new shocks what could be the problem

Shock don't have any thing to do with ride height. It should be a coil or leaf spring, or on some vehicles, a torsion bar, that keeps it level.

Back end car is too low

measure your ride height and compare to maufacturer specs..
make sure the corerect tire siz and rims are equipt on this vehicle
make sure vehicle load capacity not exceeded. if all the above checks
out look for lowering springs may have adjustable ride height if not
then the springs are sagging as this also will effect ride height.

I have a nissan silvia s13. There was recently an accident, and what happened was somebody crashed into the rear of the car. I'm now getting a exhaust smell in the car. Any ideas?

It`s probably the exhaust doughnut between the exhaust pipe and the exhaust manifold its a gasket that can move around and be damaged easly

Have 15 inch rims on my ae92 with 195/50/15. aside from replacing my rims am I able to put 185/195/60/15 to bring it back to factory specs ?

I don't know exactly what the factory specs for AE92 tyre sizes are but I do know that a 195/50-15 has a 97.5mm sidewall height and a 185/60-15 has a 111mm sidewall height..
Overall diameter (195/50-15)= 576mm (22.677")
(185/60-15)= 603mm (23.74")

I would like to know the factory ground clearance for my 96 olds model 98. Thanks Art

hi art , i think they are going to call it ride height in the alignment specs . front ride height would be 9.0" - 9.8" and that point of measurement would be taken at the rocker panel 23.5" back from the center of the front axel (center of tire) to the bottom of the rocker panel .and the rear height would be 9.05" - 9.85" , and that point of measurement would be 23.5" from the center of the rear axel forward to the bottom of the rocker panel .see pic
