Question about 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier
My 94 Cavalier is cranking but won't turn over. I've been told I may need a new fuel pump. I just have a feeling that it may not be the answer. Are there other causes for this? If I need to replace the pump, can I access the gas tank under the back seat? It was very cold when this happened last week so I plugged in the block heater. It started about four hours later and ran fine for a week. Yesterday it wouldn't turn over again and plugging it in hasn't helped. Could the problem be a blocked fuel filter? Can a diagnostic test determine where the problem lies? I want an easy on the budget solution if possible.
If you haven't changed the filter in a long time change it. Diagnostics are very helpful but I'd change that filter first (you are not wasting $ if you have not done it because it is likely due for a change) With the key on, can you hear the pump running? If you can, that's a good thing.
good luck and post back if it works (or not)
