Sometimes these axles are tough to remove, sometimes you may have to tap the outside of the axle with either a brass hammer or rubber mallet (as not to damage the outer part of the axle) adthen try and pull out the axle shaft. You may also have to try pry bar behind the axle shaft (where it goes into the transmission) and slightly pry out away from the transmission to release the ring lip that holds it in place inside the transmission. Hope this helps.

Is it necessary to remove the cv axle to remove the transmission from a 2001 ford escort?

interesting challenge! if the axle nut is not rounded there are some powerful electric impact guns out there, the other side of the street, the transmission once unbolted and the axle pryed loose and there is enough room between sub frame and engine it will come out, automatic is easier but heavier... heat wrench would be nice (torch)

How to replace cv joint plymouth voyager

CV joints are on the inner and outer ends of the front drive axles. They come as a complete unit known as a "half shaft". After setting the vehicle on jack stands and removing the tire, you have to remove the axle nut. This nut has a lot of torque holding it, so it may require the use of an impact gun. then the lower ball joint has to be taken apart so that the hub assembly can be rotated out of the way to remove the axle. Then you have to pull the whole shaft out of the transmission. Some fluid loss is normal so have a pan under the tranny. It is held in by a ring that rides in a groove and it has to compress to get the axle out so it may take some effort to pull it out. Getting the ball joint apart will require the use of a tool called a pickle fork. If you don't have the proper tools, this is a job best left to a shop.

I am trying to remove the drivers side axle of a 2001 mazda protege, is there a locking mechanism? How do I best go about getting it out of the transmission?

It has a ring on it that sits in an indent in the tranny. Push the axle in and then **** it straight out. Don't pry, as you could damage the splines.

Kia spectra transmission removel?

Sometimes the axles on these do hang up. The best way to remove these is to take 2 pry bars to place on either side and very sharply, pull quickly and the axle should break free. You should feel it pop. Do not pull on the other end of the axle. It can disconnect the joint from the inside and the you have to remove the clamp and reset the joint.

Need to take out passager drive axle to get alternator our

If you have everything already apart then the drive shaft should pull right out. Some times they pull out hard. Try turning it back and forth and give it a good ****. Make sure the transmission is in natural.

I am replacing my axle on the pasenger side ive got everything apart just havnt taken the axle out yet should it just pull out or is there something to it if you can help it would be nice

With a large screwdriver, CAREFULLY pry the axle out of the differential case about half an inch. This causes an internal snap ring to disengage from it's locking groove, you can then pull the axle out of the case. Countrycurt0
