Why dose my chevy cavalier 2.2l 2004 get a code p0113 and says hight sircute

My info says that is the code for intake air temp sensor. Two wire connector, one wire is tan and the other is black. I don't know if replacing the sensor will fix, possibly?

Reported codes: P1509, P0113, P0118, and P1298 simultaneously. Just replaced throttle body assembly. Any help? Also, why doesn't this Jeep read OBDII codes on odometer when turning the key 3x's?

The key on off method doesn't work on this model.
P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input, most likely cause the IAT sensor was left unplugged in the air intake to engine.
P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input . Likely cause the ECT sensor is disconnected or the wiring is damaged.
P1298 Lean operation at wide open throttle. Possible causes are vacuum leaks and low fuel pressure at wide open throttle.

P1509 Idle Air Control (IAC) System High RPM. Possible vacuum leaks or defective IAC valve.

P1612 is Nissan Imobilizer code or NATS "chain of IMMU" check fuse 36 (10amp) out near the battery in fuseable link box. If that does not do it then you will have to gather up all your square black headed keys and tow it to the dealership or have a computerized lock smith reintroduce the keys to the car. The car is detecting a problem with the key or is not seeing the key to allow the car to turn on the fuel system. After 4 attempts with a bad or non programed key the car will enter lock mode.

P0113 The Intake air temp sensor is located inside the air flow meter and uses yellow and black wire and the black wire. IAT sensor circuit code P0113 indicating excessively high voltage or (Open Circuit) the ECM is either not seeing the correct voltages at terminals 66 and 80 under the dash at the ecm. It could be as simple as a broken wire under the insulation right at the air flow meter, Or a little worse a bad air flow meter. There are cheeper remanufactured Aair flow meters available at Nissan for your car around $150 instead of $400 like they used to be new.

P0118 The engine coolant temperature sensor is used to detect the engine coolant temperature. The sensor modifies a voltage signal from the ECM. The modified signal returns to the ECM as the engine coolant temperature input. The sensor uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. The electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases as temperature increases.
When is the code detected?
An excessively high voltage from the sensor is sent to ECM.
Possible Causes
- Harness or connectors (The sensor circuit is open or shorted.)
- Engine coolant temperature sensor may be faulty
- Low engine coolant level."

P0335 The engine crankshaft sensor was a recall problem they are experiencing. You can call NNA Nissan North America for all he details to see if your call is in te VIN range numbers. If not you woll have to replace the sensor. It causes a loss of engine drive power problem and may cause your car to stall leading to a very dangerous situation

I am having a code P0113 and the car is using up too much gas

P0113 is an Intake Air Temp High Input error. High input in this cause, means the voltage sent to the PCM from the sensor is too high. This makes sense since the higher the voltage the PCM seem the lower the intake temperature seems to be to the PCM. Colder temperatures will cause the PCM to increase the fuel to the engine (like the old style choke/fast idle). You need to check the wiring to the Intake Air Temp Sensor, and if it is OK, replace the sensor.

89 dodge ram truck 2500 2wd code reader says 4 codes dont know what they mean p1509, p1298, p0118 andp0113

P1509 Dodge - Leak Detection Pump Switch or Mechanical Fault

P1298 Dodge - Air/Fuel Ratio Lean Under Wide Open Throttle Condition
- Plugged air filter
- Plugged fuel filter
- Defective fuel pump
- Ignition system weak-misfires
- Defective coil

P0118 Dodge - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit High
- Low engine coolant level
- Faulty Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
- Faulty engine coolant thermostat
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical circuit poor connection

P0113 Dodge - Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High
- Faulty Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor
- Dirty air filter
- Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor circuit poor electrical connection

Engine runs rough if it warms up won't start dtc codes p0118 and p0113 just did head gasket and replaced exhaust manifold all new gaskets new plugs wires and coolant engine timing marks are all c

P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input

Low temperature results in a high signal voltage. When the PCM sees a signal voltage higher than 5 volts, it sets this P0113 check engine light code.

P0118 - The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor is a thermistor screwed into a coolant passage in the cylinder head. Sensor resistance is high when coolant temperature is low and resistance drops when coolant temperature increases. The powertrain control module (PCM) provides a 5 volt reference and a ground to the sensor. The PCM monitors voltage drop to determine coolant temperature. If the ECT reads less than freezing temp. when engine has been running for more than a few minutes, the PCM determines a circuit fault and sets this code. Or if the PCM determines the sensor resistance is out of specs, this code is set.
Potential Symptoms

Symptoms of a P0118 could include:

  • Very poor fuel economyicon1.png
  • A no start condition
  • Vehicle may start, but run very poorly, blowing black smoke, running very rough and misfiring
  • Illumination of MIL
Causes

A code P0118 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • A bad connection at the sensor
  • An open in the ground circuit between the ECT sensor and the PCM
  • A short in the voltage feed between the sensor and the PCM
  • A bad PCM (less likely)
  • A bad temperature sensor (shorted internally)

Code P0113-P0183

DTC P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the temperature of the air entering the engine. The PCM supplies a 5 volt reference voltage to the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. The IAT is a thermistor that varies resistance based on temperature. As the temperature increases, resistance decreases. Low temperature results in a high signal voltage. When the PCM sees a signal voltage higher than 5 volts, it sets this P0113 check engine light code.

DTC P0183 - Fuel Temperature Sensor Circuit High Voltage.

I suggest to check wire connections.

Where is the p0113 located? Do you have any diagrams showing this for a 98 Ford Taurus?

The P0113 code is a intake air temperature high input. Your intake temp sensor is located after the air filter in the air cleaner housing.

Have trouble codes - P1509,P0113,P0118,P1298 , what do these mean and how do i fix it.

Are you using an Innova code reader? I had this when I used one of the Innova 3030 code readers. I called and they said they were QC codes from manufacturing.
