Is it easier to remove tank or the slide the bed back?

  • Anonymous Apr 22, 2009

I have changed the fuel pump and it worked fine for a couple days, now it will not start. I have changed the relay and it still won't start. I have spark and it is turning over good. Could the piece that goes on the bottom of the fuel pump fell off? It did not go on like the old one, or is the fuel filter clogged?

Remove the tank, just two straps, the fill neck and the fuel lines.
but get the tank as empty as possible first, fuel is heavy.

Where is the fuel pump relay located in a 1997 chevy blazer 4-dr.

In the glove box behind a plastic panel. There are 3 relays in there. The fuel pump is the one closest to the drivers side.

How do i get to the fuel pump on a 1997 s10 blazer

Unless there is an access panel inside the vehicle above the fuel pump, you will have to remove the fuel tank in order to access the pump. Do not forget to replace the fuel filter. Partially clogged fuel filter is one of the causes of a failed fuel pump.

before you drop tank again, check fuses & relay.then disconnect fuel line @ filter turn key to on position should hear fuel pump run and get gas stream out of line. if no flow from line new pump faulty be sure & remove negative battery cable first good luck.
