The heater and noises!

I have 96 Lincoln Towncar and a week ago I turned on my deforster and I heard a clicking sound under the dash and it would stop and start again, so today I turned on my heat and it was blowing cold air out. The engine temp stayed the same.

It sounds like you have a bad temp door actuator.

I will have to look up the location and the process of removal. I'll repost with the answer.

2005'Towncar. 40k miles. Started making an odd sound on acceleration; hard to describe but sounds like it is coming from passenger dash side. Maybe an air noise?? No sound on very soft acceleration

Turn off heater/air conditioner and accelerate briskly. If noise does not occur problem is probably a regulator in the heater/air conditioning system located under the dash.

I have a 93 lincoln towncar with 84k on it. I bought this thing a few months ago from an older gentleman who had not drivin' it in years. I expected alot of problems, but the price was right. So after...

I've never heard of "burping" the coolant system, nor have I ever owned a Lincoln, but based on your description of the problem alone, I would first drain the system, flush it with a good radiator flush (ask the guys at a reputable auto parts store) and refill it - checking all hoses first, of course. While you're at it you might want to check out the water pump and thermostat. The other thing is that the sound you describe as water rush may not be that at all - although i have no suggestions as to what it is. Good luck. . .

My 1997 Lincoln towncar, the switches work on the heater and ac but the heater stays on in all positions

It sounds like a vacuum line is leaking or broke. Check the lines under the hood and dash.

I have a 2000 towncar wtih clinking noise under dash. Sounds like the blinker is on but it isn't. Apply the brake, stops the noise. Turning on a turn signal stops the random clicking. It stops after...

it could be in fact the turn signal sound since this is produced electronically by the cluster

pull the cluster and confirm its making the sound

I replaced quite a few at the dealer for similar concerns

What do i need to change heater core in my 96 lincoln towncar?

The dash will have to be removed to access the heater box for removal.I would suggest that if you've never done this to have a repair shop do it for you.Its not easy even for a experienced mechanic.

Air only blows hot on 96 lincoln

Sounds like the heater and a/c blend door actuator. It is located under front center of dash below windshield. Dash must be removed to replace it. I've done it several times.

96 LINCOLN TOWNCAR STUCK ON HEAT ONLY !

The heater and a/c blend door actuator motor is located behind the center of the dash just below the windshield. The steering column must be detached and lowered and the dash must be removed to access the blend door motor.
