Question about 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 2WD
Hey there.Im a manager at a auto recycling yard.Prices depend on how many miles the rearend has and condition. You yourself can call yard and get a price quote on a used one and even buy it yourself, then have a garage install it.You will cut out the middle man and save some money. There is a metal tag on the rearend that is bolted on with the cover that has your ratio on it.It will be a 3.55,3.92 or a 4.10 ratio.Changing the ring, pinion gears, and carrier is possible but will require new bearings throughtout.I would compare costs/warrantys for both jobs and go will your gut from there.John.
