I was wiring a trailer pigtail to an 06 wrangler and blew the turn signal bulbs but the fuses are good. I have running and reverse lights but no brake lights or turn signals

If the bulbs and the fuses are good, check the brake light switch. You might of shorted out the switch when working on the pig tail. Always use a test light or volt meter when installing pig tails. This way you can check for power and ground before hooking a wire up to help prevent shorts. But by what you have said it does sound as if the brake light switch is now bad.

2008 dodge 1500 4wd tail light wire harness color code with trailer hitch

If you adding a trailer light harness, you can buy a seperate harness from most auto parts stores that will plug right in. There should be a connector near the rear of the truck that you can unplug, and add the trailer harness. It's simple and fast and you don't end up making a mess of your wiring. I suggest puting some "dielectric grease" on the connections to prevent corrosion.
Flat 4 connector.
Brown is tail lights and marker lights.
Yellow and Green are turn and stop. I think yellow is left.
White is ground.

Red is brakes
brown is clearance lights
yellow is right turn
Green is left turn
White SHOULD BE GROUND but may not be
you will need to test and determine if white or black is ground

I was wiring a four prong plug into the round plug harness, the ground wire touched the brown wire wich controlls the clearence and tail lights on the trailer, checked all fusses under the hood all seem to...

When this happens it normally blows a fuse. Did you check the fuses for continuity with a volt meter? Sometimes it is hard to see if a fuse is blown by looking at it. If the fuses are ok check under the back of the vehicle, look at the wires to see if the insulation is in good condition and the wire did not burn into. Although if this had happened you would have most likely seen white smoke.

Tow plug

I take it the blinkers and brake lights work ok when not hooked up to the trailer? If yes, then the wiring to the tow hitch is not hooked up correctly. How many wires to trailer pig tail connection? U can have up to 7 depending on what you tow. Check to make sure these wires are hooked up from the truck to tow plug correctly: 7 wired---
brown-Rt turn and brake light, yellow-backup, white-ground, blue-electric brake, green-tail running lights, black-battery charger, red-left turn signal and brake light. Let me know if u have something other than 7 wire, I'll get the wiring color and source info for u.
