Two of the spark plug gaps are closed, I was told that the engine is blown

Change the spark plugs and then do a compression check on the engine to see if it has good compression and try autozone.com to see if they have your car listed for diagrams pictures and step by step instructions if your car is not listed then try your local library they have all the car manuals and even copy them for you

Pull one of the spark plugs, get the name and number from spark plug. Go to your favorite auto store and get the same spark plug.
Even if you go to walmart, they will have a catalog there close to spark plugs, look up your year--make--model and engine size.
Different manufacturers may use different gaps? I did look up motorcraft spark plug for your vehicle, I believe the gap was .050.
I usually go with the cheapest spark plugs that are listed for the vehicle, just because of the cost. The cheapest may not be the best.

the oil that ran down the combustion chamber did not hurt your engine. but could have damaged the plug on that cylinder. so I would replace that one plug and if you still have the problem recheck the other plugs to make sure that the gap on the plug did not get closed.

I've been told different spark plug gaps for a1974 Ford F-250 with a 360 engine, which is the correct plug gap for this truck.


U should buy a spark plug tapper u can get them very cheap from a auto parts store n to Find the correct gap just read the galore it will pretty much tell u the correct capping Needed

if this is a four cylinder engine,the plug gap is what NAPA told you,verify you have the right plugs and gap,next remove the cap again and verify the plug wires are pulled into cap where they will lock in.

Spark plug gap on a 1992 Gmc Sonoma 4.3L V6 FI


Usually somewhere on the engine or in the engine compartment, there is a sticker with the engine specifications. The spark plug gap should be included. If not .032 or an inch should be close.
