I have a 1999 toyota camry and it just resently started leaking engine oil. It is not leaking around the filter or the oil plug. It only leaks when the car is running. Where is the next most common place...

the most common place for a leak, especially when the engine running, is the rocker cover gasket on the top of the engine. other places include the crankshaft and camshaft oil seals, the sump gasket, and as you have already said, the oil filter and sump plug.
it is a lot easier to spot a leak if you pressure clean the engine first.
that way it is much easier to see any fresh oil and where it is coming from

1992 toyota corolla oil leak around spark plug tubes. how is it repaired

You need a new valve cover gasket set. This will come with seals that fit around the spark plug tubes.

Replaced valve cover gasket, but oil still leaks

u might have to add silcone around the camshaft area to the valve cover. make sure the surface of the head is completely dry and make sure u replaced any rubber seals that came with the set.

Oil leak from valve cover gaskets on 1999 Toyota Avalon. How involved is the change out of the gaskets? Any potential pitfalls or things to be wary of?

not much mate. pretty easy. Just get the original gaskets from the agent and also get a tube of engine silicon from repco or any auto shop. Its a bolt off and on situation. Make sure no dirt and grime falls into the cams when taking off the valve cover.

Oil leak for about 2 years. Mechanic tightened a few parts last week and I still see a leak. advise

Where is it leaking from is the first problem, Check around the valve cover. The gasket could be bad, which is fairly easy to replace. This would be my first place to check and hopefully that's all. If you see oil around the bottom of the valve cover where the bolts are, then i'd replace that.

1997 toyota avalon oil pan gasket leaking , seems

Are you sure its the oil pan most leaks come from the valve cover gaskets up above. check the corners of the valve covers. If the pan needs re-sealed you will have to remove the flex pipe.

Leaks oil looks like from valve cover

You have to remove the spark plugs cables and remove the four nuts that you see when the cables are removed.

When the four nuts are removed, simply raise the valuve cover. When replacing the gasket, make sure you get the gromets as well. Those sometimes get worn or crack since they are more exposed than the value cover gasket. Make sure that you clean the cover from oil and replace the gasket with no use of silicon.

Good Luck.
