This vehicle breakes had been designed to work with an anti blockage system, there is no way to "jump wires to turn off the abs" without badly compromising the braking efficiency and the safety of the vehicle.

In the state where I live only the check eng. light would be a issue abs doesnot matter. If your state requires a test of your abs system and willnot pass your car because of it even though the brakes are fine, you will have to have the abs repaired.Even if you take the bulbs out, they will still know there is a problem.I would recommend get a used one to save you money to fix the problem or contact the garage to see if the abs light will cause a problem with getting an inspection.Good luck.John.

Hi, you can try disconnecting its cables from the wheels.
Else, open the dashboard and disconnect its lights.

Hello There.

There is a fuse for ABS in the fuse box, you need to pull it out. this will solve the light problem.

Hope this helps.

If you can live with the ALB light in your gauge cluster staring at you all the time, you can just pull the ABS fuses as i did. it still passes inspection in VA & i keep the pulled fuses in the coin holder just in case.
the fuses are located under the hood, above the battery & are clearly marked on the box. just pull everything that starts with "ALB" .
-----------------------
removing the fuse under he hood. For some stange reason sometimes the abs light is on and sometimes it is off. For permanent solution yoy  cover it with electrical tape. Hope this helps.

You can unplug the sensors, the computer, whatever and everything will be safe still.it will not get any lights and it will be safer.and it will just work as non abs system cars.nothing to worry just pull the sensors.and dissconnect the connecting wires of the lights in the abs system support.

Good evening and welcome to fixya.
you can try one thing disconnect the battery and let it sit for a minute and then hook it back up, this should clear them for a bit then they will probably come back on. you can do this around the corner from the inspection place. or the second one works the best just pull the bulbs out then the problem on the dash goes away, good luck with this and hope this helps.

No its not possible as if you cut the wires to get the inspection passed it will get stopped there as the wires are cut.and every fault is detected by their reader code so it cannot be by passed.you will have to replace the abs system to get it inspected.

Hi

If you want to disable the lights then you need to remove the ABS censor/remove the wiring so that the light does not appear.

I would remove the dashboard and cut the wires or remove the wires and once inspection is done put them again,

1. look for a manual to remove dashboard
2. cut with a knife
3. inspection
4. use a soldering iron to do them again "that's if you want the lights back on"

other than that, depends on your model you might just have a fuse in the fuse box which can be removed and those lights go away.

No fluid at rear brakes on 1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme. I took it into a shop and the code said ABS motor was bad. Would be the cause of no brake fluid coming out when I take banjo fitting off?

Hello
The ABS in this car is what is called Active ABS, so yes a defective ABS Hydraulic control unit motor can cause this problem. Other things that can cause the problem is a defective brake master cylinder or Air trapped in the ABS control unit. You do not say you have done any parts replacement. If this problem did start after any brake system repair then be advised it takes a special tool that electrically holds open the ABS control valves so the air can be removed through bleeding, so if you opened yup the system you must have a shop with the proper tool do the bleeding. There is no way to bleed the brakes at home using conventional brake bleeding means.

sounds like a bad or loose ground wire, it would be located in the trunk near the tail light assembly, the other switch is for the cruise contro, it's what cuts the cruise when you hit the brakes.

you may have a ABS problem. I would drive it and attemp to skid the tires an dsee if the pump activates. sometimes this will unstick any valves inside the ABS unit. you may need to have a qualified repair shop check deeper. the ABS will have a code, and a scanner will be needed to check further.
