Right rear just in front of wheel. push clips back and remove old filter. apply new filter insuring flow is correct direction by arrow on filter press the clips back in place and you are ready. check to see if it is leaking.

You should be able to find the fuel filter under the vehicle possibly by the fuel tank. This may also be a non-servicible fuel filter (yes, believe it or not there are some out there, they are located inside the fuel tank). If you cannot find it anywhere under the vehicle i would suggest contacting the dealer to verify if it is servicible or not. Hope this helps.

I suggest check the easy things first. Vacuum lines, could cause a lean condition, fuel filter restricting the fuel flow lean condition. Carefully clean throttle body with proper cleaner. I'm a shade tree mechanic but these simple things work sometimes. You didn't mention if you have the cvt trans. If you do and you are going 75 80 on the highway coming to a hill will cause it to race that high. Then when the hill is crested it will slow down, I don't like it either but it is the nature of the beast. I often cancel the cruise on big hills on the highway so it doesn't do that.

Ford 500 turns over but wont start.

there could be a number of problems the most common of which is the fuel filter i recommend changing that first also doing a tuneup including, new oil, spark plugs, plug wires, air filter, and oil filter.

Looking for a list of parts that need to be changed out on a 2006 ford five hudred for a tune-up

With the advent of platinum tipped spark plugs and distributorless ignition a tune-up doesn't consist of much. Air filters (engine and cabin if equipped) should be replaced at 30k mile intervals (more frequent if in dusty climates). Spark plugs and PCV valve should be replaced at 100k mile intervals. The fuel filter is built inside the tank and is designed to last the life of the vehicle.

So basically if your at 100k miles you should replace the air filters, pcv valve, spark plugs and wires(if equipped). That is the extent of a "tune-up" now a days.

I think you'll find it's a problem with your throttle you might need to talk to you local ford dealer but don't get talked into getting bit's replaced! I've been tld that you can put a recommended cleaner into your fuel tank and this can sometimes cure the problem - worth a go................
