Question about 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Oil light comes on intermittently

I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and the oil light comes on about twice a week. When it comes on it usually stays on for the day but is off by the next morning. I have checked the oil each time and the level seems to be fine. Other than that the Jeep runs fine. Any feedback you could provide would be great. Thank you

Replace oil sending unit (usually somewhere near oil filter) Add a pint of marvel oil to help clean passageways. Make sure wire on sender is not grounding anywhere.

On my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2005 3.7 Laredo oil light came on suddenly.Have checked oil level and oil filter-OK.Also passenger airbag light comes on and off.Can you please get me a solution what it might...

Re: oil light - if it's not making loud engine noises, and oil level is up check your oil pressure sending unit. Either the wire is lose or off or the sensor is bad (they're cheap to replace)
The air bag light on/off indicates contact problem. Have dealer check that out, air bags are explosive and dangerous for the DIYr, plus dealers will usually do this under Fed. Warranty safety.

the heat controll failure is a stand alone issue, it needs replaced. As for the other issues, It sounds like the body controll module is malfunctioning, Only a dealer can test that module

the 1st thing that needs to be done is have a mechanical oil pressure test gauge hooked up to confirm the actual reading, the electronic gauge many times is incorrect.

If you have zero oil pressure thats a BAD sign, first have a mechanic check what the engines actual oil pressures are.

Oil leak from sensor

It's called an oil pressure sending unit. There are two versions one for vehicles with a light on dash, one for those with a gauge. It's not expensive and MUST be replaced. Not hard to do.
