Question about Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Steering wheel controls on 2002 Buick Lesabre work but won't light up. Have never lit up since I bought in 2005. I just removed one of the switches and checked the bulbs. Both were good. What else could cause this? Clock spring or other. Dimmer switch works for all other lights. I don't believe there is a seperate fuse for this circuit.

Below the steering shaft to the left of it under the pad is a small black 2 amp fuse box. There are 3 2amp fuses in it. On my 2005 one fuse had blown. Replaced it and have lights on steering wheel. You have to remove the pad below the dash to get to it. Just pull, it's held by 4 clips

1. Most of the lights on the controls in the steering wheel are out. How do I replace them. (Are the lights as I have heard integral to the switches?) 2. The cruise control button is stuck how do I get...

you are correct-the lights are led bulbs soldered inside of the switches-the switches can be removed by gently pring them out of the steering wheel-----BE CAREFULL THOUGH-the connectors are very small and there is not much wire to pull out

2000 Buick LeSabre's cruise control button won't stay engaged

We had the same problem and ended up replacing the switch. We used a small flat-tip screwdriver and lifted along the edge of the switch. With the switch removed from the steering wheel, we disconnected the wire connector and installed the new switch by reversing the order.

Dash lights are out at climate control area on our 2005 lesabre limited. Also some are out on the steering wheel controls.

The climate controll lights have been an issue with gm for years, The only fix is replace the circut board in the controll Head itself, Or replace it, Theres a guy on ebay sells these rebuilt for like 75.00 and you ship your old one back to him, This is the cheapest solution i know

How do you remove the remote radio controls from the steering wheel in a 2005 LeSabre?

First disconnect negative battery cable.
Then go behind steering wheel, there will be about 4 screws to remove, then the steering wheel can easily be pulled apart with no worries. Then unscrew unplug and pop out your controls.

Transmission Traction "Off" light stays lit with Traction button

The traction control system is controlled through the Anti-lock brake system. The way it works is if one of your wheels starts spinning the ABS applys the brake to that wheel to transfer power to the oppsite wheel that is getting traction. If your ABS is bad then your Traction control won't work. To check it I would find a parking lot on a wet day. In an open space mash in the gas. if you hear the ABS system kick in and you don't squall the tires then your good. My guess is you won't. What I would be worried about is will my ABS work. When checking the traction control is a good time to check the ABS. Acclerate to around 15 mph, then mash the brake as your live depended on it. If you hear a motor run and feel a vibration or grind in the brake peddal, then it works.
