Many times fluids take on verry different smells onece theyve been in a vehicle for a while.
Typically the oil dipstick is yellow and if you see one thats red it probably for the transmission. The transmission fluid is typically drained from the plug in the trans. then refilled through the opening for the dipstick.(you want to have your engine running so it can pump the fluid into the trans.) then you may see a windshield, thats wiper fluid, a radiator is for ant-freeze, and brake fluid will probably be a big round black plastic screw with a icon of a foot pedal on it. I believe that the icons on the sticks and screws will match up to icons on your fluid containers

GOOD LUCK and happy hunting :D

Get a wiring diagram from Autozone repair guides for your particular vehicle. That's where I get mine when I need one.

A wrench appears and 34a I don't know what that means and I don't have the manual, it happen two days ago. I put engine oil because it showed 15% oil.

That wrench is a maintenance minder indicator lettting you know that your oil's service life is at 15%, not that the level or amount is low. Have your oil changed and have the maintenance minder light reset.

How do I change the transmission oil? Where do I drain the oil from? Is their a filter to change?

If you are asking about the automatic ... the drain plug is on the passenger side and can be reached without lifting the car. It seems like they put some sort of "loctite" type product on the threads as the plug was difficult to remove. You can't change all of the oil ... about 3 quarts can be replaced ... see the owner's manual for exact amount. You could do the drain & refill a couple of times if you want to do a more thorough oil replacement. You might start by not putting all of the oil back in and check the level as you don't want to overfill. One of the *long* neck funnels is useful for adding the new oil thru the dipstick opening. There is no filter that you can replace. Honda only recommends their autotrans fluid however I used the Redline synthetic ATF that meets their specifications.

Where is the location on a 1994 honda civic ex that i would fill the manual transmission with gear oil?

Hello,
Manual transmissions have a fill plug and a drain plug on the side of the transmission. The fill plug is a little above the drain plug. Pull the fill plug and fill the transmission until the transmission fluid just barely seeps out and re-plug the transmission. That is the proper way to fill it. You will need a long stem funnel to give you the room you need to fill it. Your transmission requires a 10W30 weight motor oil, just like your engine. If you have a little time and 3 or 4 quarts of oil laying around you can pull the fill plug first and THEN the drain plug and let all the oil drain out. Then plug the transmission and re-fill it with fresh oil and this is a transmission flush for your transmission. You just saved $70 shop charge doing this. I say pull the fill plug first and THEN the drain plug because the last thing you want to do is pull the drain plug first and then find out the fill plug has welded itself and won't come out and now you can't fill the transmission. Fill plug first always.

I do not know where to check to clutch fluid on a 1992 honda accord

You really don't check fluid. on the transmission itself you can remove the plug underneath and check it for gear oil by putting your finger in. you shouldn't be losing any unless you got a leak....

4.6 QUARTS PER SERVICE MANUAL. DONT FORGET TO USE OIL THAT IS SPECIFIC FOR HONDA. HONDAS AND ACURAS ARE CRAZY WITH HAVING TO HAVE HONDA OIL, HONDA COOLANT, (50/50 WATER, COOLANT) AND HONDA FILTERS AND HONDA BRAKE OIL AND POWER STEERING FLUID. I HAVE FOUND THAT USING HONDA FLUIDS CAN STOP A LOT OF PROBLEMS AND PREVENT DAMAGE.

My honda civic 98 hx m4va transmition type, the trans drives fine exept when gearing up I can't feel when shifting and rpms goes up and down,I replace the transmition and still doing the same, also when...

I have a 1998 Civic HX 2DR as well and mine also takes a moment to engage when you press the gas. I don't know if this is normal or not? I just bought the car and I need to replace the trans fluid only because I don’t know if there is Honda oil or another brand in it. The CVT transmissions only can use Honda's CVT oil. There is a recommend alternative oil but based on the manual it’s only for temporary use until you can replace it with the Honda oil otherwise it will cause damage to the transmission over time.

How do you put in transmission fluid?

Unfortunately, you have a closed system transmission, there is no dipstick or filler tube. I have a 96 passport and to have fluid replaced in the transmission you need to take it to a garage that is equipped to fill closed transmissions. This generally runs about $100.00 at the dealership. I was on my way to get my transmission serviced when the trans broke. Don't wait long if you're having issues.
