Question about 1996 Acura SLX
In Japan they dont have Acura, they just call them Honda. The 1996 Honda automatic transmission is known for giving out anywherer between 110K-145K miles depending on how its driven. i say, DO NOT GO TO A DEALER!! unless you have substantial cash. the dealer will offer a great warranty and so on, but you can find a shop that will warranty the work they do as well for a drastically lower price. try to find a place that does only trannies and yeah, typically the trans can be fixed without too much extra labor hours. its up to you to determin how much time, $, and effort YOU are willing to put into the repair of your vehicle.
