Question about 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier
Was coming home from friends house, going down a hill and my truck started back firing bad, then the engine went dead. I thought it was the fuel pump but I had 60PSI at the test port. I'm thinking timing chain and gears but it ran very well before the problem accured. Any one have the same thing happen? I havent checked the rotor for position yet, thought mabe someone else had the same problem. Any suggestions? Am I on the right track?
I would suggest that it is indeed the timing chain so go in that direction in troubleshooting it.
